What gets me are the people who don't pay attention to all vehicles on the rode. I've lost too many friends from people pulling out in front of a motorcycle.

A helmet cant save you from yourself!
Nor can it save u from driving at ridiculous speeds, or an anxious deer, bear or other wild animal exercising its right to cross the roadway.

Dirt you really need a helmet because if you are not falling off of those regularly then you are not really using it. We most likely agree on most issues with bikes since our experience is the same. We just don't agree about forcing others to wear helmets all of the time. I try to side for freedom until it hurts someone else. If you want a law to save motorcyclists then let's pass some anti cell phone laws.
agreed.. and falling is an art in dirt...lol

hummm....

"Massar and Coleman were thrown from the motorcycle, and neither were wearing helmets, police said."

not wearing a helmet the most foolish thing a person can do. how many more accidents like this do we need before people start to understand that crashing without a helmet is an AUTOMATIC death sentence? i have no respect for people like these two dead freedom lovers.

While i respecfully disagree with rider because I feel helmets should be mandatory, he is 100% correct about getting rid of cell phones.

The law should be no cell phone use at all when driving. Cell phones MUST be a major contributor to our accident numbers

How many more accidents will it take for people to realize that talking on their cell phone while driving is foolish? How many more accidents will it take for people to open up their eyes when pulling out? How many more accidents will it take for people to THINK when they drive?

Driving while talking on a cell phone is MORE foolish. Driving without paying attention to the surroundings is MORE foolish. There are FAR more foolish things than a biker without a helmet. If a biker without a helmet goes down, he/she is only hurting himself/herself. When a cager on a cell phone pulls out, that person could kill many others.

When there's a motorcycle accident, everyone gets all up in arms over helmet laws. When there is an accident where a vehicle turned in front of a motorcyclist wearing a helmet, people are quiet or start the whole helmet spewing crap again. I just get a kick out of people who never rode can spout off religiously about helmets. That's about as intelligent as a man spouting off about lipstick. Get over it.

Ye, I ride. Yes, I wear my helmet ALL the time. Yes, I do believe that helmets are a CHOICE. Yes, I believe that people who don't ride should shut the heck up about helmets!

Most people don't know that in PA now, you have to wear a helmet until you pass your driving test, and have ridden for two year, or taken a motorcycle course.

ie..... Helmet optional for a person 21 years of age or older who either have been licensed to operate a motorcycle for not less than two full calendar years or have completed a motorcycle rider safety course approved by the department or the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. The passenger of a person exempt under this subsection, if the passenger is 21 years of age or older.

Well, got what they wanted, I'm glad to see you put some thought into your comments. I'll have you know the members of my family do not want nor do we need your respect! Wearing the helmet would've done nothing, he flew over the bike! As for your thoughtful name, did my family get what they wanted when they found out they had lost an uncle, a son , a brother, a father?!
To those of you expressing condolences, thank you.
