The dogs were kept in kennels for months at a time? Beagles are very active dogs, they need more room for exercise than a 6 x 3 run. If the dogs were kept in such quarters for so long a time, I can see where they might become "hyper" and attack each other after a while.

Im sorry that this man was found guilty. With all this testimoney by these profesionals and still to be found guilty, it seems to me like Ms.Nahas and the spca workers have a personal vandeta against this man. Im familar with the law and this case should not last 5min in county court. This article will make me send money to his fund at the M&T bank PS Mr.Yagielniskie and his family should look into a civil lawsuit against Ms.Nahas, the spca, and Umlauf

Something seems funny to me -- such varying testimonies by a professional veterinarian and the SPCA. Seems way too odd to be THAT different.

Yes SPCA can carry vendettas big time, I have seen that in the horse world as well..One bad note about someone and it blows up, and if you stiffed the vet it can get ugly there are a lot of senerios that can pi$$ off the them to get back at you.

when he said "kept in the trailer for months", he means when traveling. They are run almost everyday. These are competition beagles, they must be in top physical shape.

Since when do volunteers' opinions trump a veterinarian's expertise and a dog warden's permission?

I can not believe the verdict in this case. They took the voluteers word over the Veterianian. What about the state dog warden. Is he not a competent person? If doing what your vet tells you and having approval of the state dog warden isn't good enough what is? I feel so bad for this man. This is the type of thing that has turned me against these anticruelty groups. I hear about this type of injustice time and time again. I hope this story makes people see how dangerous these groups are to your rights concerning pets and animals.

Hmm... volunteers say there were fight wounds, but the vet says there weren't any? Which should be the expert witness in a court case? Methinks the local SPCA and volunteers have an animal rights industry viewpoint.

its funny how this mans being punished for abusing dogs even though people are testifying he took care of them...whether he did or did not, yet the boys who beat luis ramirez to death are running around free cause Joseph palubinsky knows they weren't racially influenced to beat him to death. Last time I checked if you kill someone whether it be becauase of race or not, you're placed on under arrest and charged. Funny how the system is so different between dogs and humans.
