You are missing the point entirely. It's not whether veganism is a healthier lifestyle. It's the fact that this teacher repeatedly violated school district guidelines by presenting UNAPPROVED materials and subject matter to students and then failing to stop the activity after being requested to do so by his superiors. He was using the classroom (an ART class, no less) to put forth his PERSONAL lifestyle preference in regards to diet and the treatment of animals.

Rosa Parks was arrested for refusing to give up her bus seat to a white person. Today, she is honored. Someday, people like Mr. Warwak, who have the courage of conviction to stand up for what's right, will be recognized as heroes. Mr. Warwak, I applaud you! Every great movement has three phases: ridicule, discussion, and adoption.

Oh I didn't know Mr. Warwak was black. That changes everything. Based on the "the new thinking" he should be excused for all of his violations of contract and school policies. Clearly this is all some conspiracy.

You wouldn't like it if his secretive and unapproved "preaching" was on a topic you DIDN'T agree with.

It's horrible that because this teacher went above and beyond to teach his students compassion and healthy eating, he gets ridiculed, and ultimately, fired. One wonders: would he have been given an award had he advocated eating three Big Macs a day? But what can you expect from an educational system in bed with the meat and dairy industries?

Warwak - I know people close to the situation and you WERE NOT railroaded. You're a zealot teaching unapproved subject matter (doesn't matter WHAT it was about) to a captive audience. No wonder all the students hated you. Sit down and shut up - you've had your 15 minutes of infamy.

Never say,“Mr. Warwak said,…” Never say,“Joe Blow said,….” Only say, what you know to be true because you looked at all sides and still have an open mind. So, it is no wonder kids say,“He told us not to say Mr. Warwak said”. Then the media reports I said,“keep it secret” And you all believe anything you read. I have been railroaded. What a joke. I wanted the kids to educate their parents. This is how the media twists things and uses them against people. I also tell my students to not believe anything they hear, read, or see – ART = Milk Mustache posters I teach them about real indoctrination in schools I teach them how to see truth Factory Farming. I know that many of the readers here are ignorant and would rather comment without any research. This is the problem. Once again, never believe everything you see (Art), read, or hear. I have learned how people do believe all those things, even when they are presented with reality. Media, including this paper that recommended Tasering me is biased, and report, false, twisted and incomplete info. And you believe. This is not about me. It is about the administration at my school and how the media doesn't seem to care about the real story. The administration at my school, and many others all across the state, are not following Illinois State Code 105 that mandates, once each year, administrators are to arrange for Humane Education training for all teachers. Yes, that is correct. Look up the Illinois State Board of Education web site. I have worked for FRG for 8 years, never once did we learn about Humane Education. The ISBE Code 105 (the driving force behind schools and the base for all other curricular) also mandates that every teacher teach Character Education with all the same ideas of respect, responsibility, caring, fairness, moral courage, and on. Not only did they withhold Humane Education from teachers (at least 8 generations of FRG children passed through the building without it) they then prevented me from teaching those very same things. This is the problem going on all over the country. Administrators are afraid of change. The system is broken. We have to change for the children. T hide the real sory and give you all want you want, they paint me as a looney. I guess, chasing the real story is too much work when you can fill your paper with any old garbage. Instead of doing real journalism, the media has sunk to a new low and missed a chance to do some real good in the world. Nothing new I guess considering the medias apathy about Bush’s handling of Iraq. The media and society do not care what Bush does, but they take great pleasure in smearing a good man. I guess that is our bully mentality in America hard at work protecting the status que. How many more school shootings until we get to the bottom of this story? How many more good people with messages of peace, love, and compassion will we smear?

Fox River Grove School District 3 chose to ignore the Federal Trade Commission’s ruling against misleading commercial advertising in schools. I am being terminated for my response to the pro-dairy propaganda in the school cafeteria in which, I, as an Art Teacher, was educating students about the power of advertising in the Visual Arts. Specifically, how the Meat and Dairy Industry uses its influence to shape and guide the values and morals of society through indoctrination. Charges, not limited to, but include the following:
In retaliation of Dave Warwak's performance of his official duties and in an attempt to avoid compliance and/or legal action regarding their neglect in addressing ILSC violations and other Child Endangerment issues, Jackie Krause, Timothy Mahaffy, and the Fox River Grove School District 3 Board of Education Members***, knowingly and willfully, exposed Dave Warwak to hatred, contempt, and ridicule, while Warwak was engaged in the execution of his official duties, in which, said members prevented the defendant from performing his official duties. SB0100 (720 ILCS 5/12-110)(was 720 ILCS 5/12-6)
Sec. 12-110 12-6. Intimidation; aggravated intimidation.

OK, I am a vegan. But this guy sounds pretty inappropriate. I think it was kinda lame to have put that last line on there about how animal rights groups praise him. I don't know any other vegan who would think what this guy was doing was acceptable. There are crazy people among every belief. I would hate to be associated with this guy an any way.
