Haven't you heard.......there is a good likely-hood
the township will be disbanded. Look for an upcoming referendum.

Yes, hopefully the township supervisor and trustee positions will be discontinued because it's not needed and is a complete waste of taxpayer money.

Save the money do away with the township its not needed and would save taxpayers money. Also the guy running for township trustee Brent Bluthardt is not a well liked guy. He is what you call a problem child and doesn't know how to "play nice", in other words he is not a team player and only looks out for himself and not the people. He is a very self serving individual and would be totally wrong for Antioch or anywhere for that matter. He is a wanna be with no real "know how experience". He is connected to all the wrong people that would spell disaster for Antioch--he is the former president of the Antioch Republican Club and that in itself says there is no way I would ever vote for that guy. I smell trouble with anyone connected to that so called club and yes I'm Republican--that includes not voting for Garborek running for Village Mayor. Not good at all. Not voting for Township positions cause I believe it shouldn't exist in the first place, but I definitely wouldn't vote for Bluthhardt.

From what I understand, Jack Fields is the better candidate. Smouse let all that baloney happen with the Rescue squad and fire department. The use of tax dollars was a joke the last year. Jack has a clear plan to benefit the people of Antioch
He has real estate experience which is favorable considering one of the Townships main duties involves property assessment. He wants to be more visible in the community so people don't have to ask, "why not push all important duties to corrupt, bureaucratic Lake County government?"
,
My point is, if you're of the opinion that Township government should be phased out fine. That doesn't mean you shouldn't take your vote for Township Supervisor seriously. The reality of that actually happening in Antioch is slim and a new Supervisor will inevitably be elected. So make sure the right guy is in charge of your tax money.

So......what you're saying is even though the the Township (and I mean ALL of the township) is a total waste of taxpayers' money, we should also waste our valuable time to vote to put into office more waste to be "in charge of your tax money.". Too Funny, Hmmmmmm something wrong with that picture. They all get a free ride at our expense and I take that very seriously!

No, I'm saying someone will be elected regardless of how you feel. So you can bitch bitch bitch or pick "the lesser of two evils". The question was "the difference between the two" not whether or not the position should exist. I was just trying to help someone out with my understanding of the situation. I see your point, however rudely you all choose to make it.

To the original questioner who asked, I'm sorry you came here. Check elsewhere. These people on here are miserable and useless and should really just admit how much they hate themselves rather than trying their damnest to spread their misery.

Guess if you live in the village you don't care about the township..... Fine. The township is a critical asset to serve the unincorporated areas of Antioch. Roads, snow plowing, elderly service, mosquito abatement, etc. I doubt the mayor of the county will care about us...

Smouse seems to have done a good job of keeping expenses under control and continue to serve the township needs. I see the guy out all the time, checking roads, treating standing water for mosquitos, checking on the parks, even snow plowing ! Somehow I doubt the other candidate will be out in trenches.

Mr Fields,
Someone is displaying your political poster in the parking lot of the polling place at The Antioch Senior Center. I think the law is 100 feet. You might want to look into it.

I'm not sure this is the best place to send a message to any candidate or campaign; perhaps you should reach out to Mr. Fields or any candidate directly if you believe there is an issue with a sign?
