The past members of my family that fought in the Civil War wore blue.
My dad, a WW2 vet died two years ago, WW2 vets are not all dead yet. I was incredibly saddened that NYC has decided to sell the statue of the raising of the flag at Iwo Gima. There is a Marine vet of that action living five miles from me. So I guess you are right, the sacrifice of these WW2 vets is basically forgotten.
I guess you are right about 09/11/01, the original war on terror has degenerated into God knows what, or why.
As I have written before, we need to learn from the past as to not repeat it, but it appears humans are generally too stupid to do so.

You are such a ratard. we will win and your ratared as# will not know. We are winning regardless of your crap. One day you will be in the concentration camps or you will let me be freee. there is no choice. Give freedpom to the colored or be in chains.\\\bye bye we have won.!!!

They’re selling postcards of the hanging They’re painting the passports brown The beauty parlor is filled with sailors The circus is in town
Here comes the blind commissioner They’ve got him in a trance One hand is tied to the tight-rope walker The other is in his pants
And the riot squad they’re restless They need somewhere to go As lady and I look out tonight From desolation row
Cinderella, she seems so easy It takes one to know one, she smiles And puts her hands into her back pockets Bette Davis style
And in comes Romeo, he’s moaning "You belong to me I believe" And someone turns and says to him "My friend you'd better leave"
And the only sound that’s left After the ambulances go Is Cinderella sweeping up On desolation row
Now the moon is almost hidden The stars they're just pretending to hide The fortunetelling lady Has even taken all her things inside
All except for Cain and Abel And the hunchback of Notre Dame Everyone is makin' love Or else expecting rain
And the good Samaritan, he’s dressing He’s getting ready for the show He’s going to the carnival tonight On desolation row
Ophelia, she’s ’neath the window For her I feel so afraid On her twenty-second birthday She already is an old maid
Now to her, death is quite romantic She wears an iron vest Her profession is her religion Her sin is her lifelessness
And though her eyes are fixed upon Noah’s great rainbow She spends her time peeking Into desolation row
Einstein, disguised as Robin Hood With his memories in a trunk Passed this way an hour ago With his friend, some jealous monk
Now he looked so immaculately frightful As he bummed his cigarette Then he went off sniffing drainpipes And reciting the alphabet
You would not think to look at him But he was famous long ago For playing the electric violin On desolation row
Dr. Filth, he keeps his world Locked inside of his leather cup But all his sexless patients They’re trying to blow it up
Now his nurse, some local loser She’s in charge of the cyanide hole She also keeps the cards that read "Have mercy on his soul"
They all play on the penny whistle You can hear them blow If you lean your head out far enough From desolation row
Across the street they’ve nailed the curtains They’re getting ready for the feast The phantom of the opera In a perfect image of a priest
They’re spoon feeding Casanova To get him to feel more assured Then they’ll kill him with self-confidence After poisoning him with words
And the phantom shouts to skinny girls "Get outta here if you don’t know Casanova he's just being punished for going To desolation row"
Now at midnight all the agents And the superhuman crew Come out and round up everyone That knows more than they do
Then they bring them to the factory Where the heart attack machine Is strapped across their shoulders And then the kerosene
Is brought down from the castles By insurance men who go Check to see that no one is escaping To desolation row
Praise be to Nero’s Neptune The Titanic sails at dawn And everybody’s shouting "Which side are you on?"
And Ezra Pound and T.S. Elliott Fighting in the captain’s tower While Calypso's singers laugh at them And fishermen hold flowers
Between the windows of the sea Where lovely mermaids flow And nobody has to think too much About desolation row
Yes, I received your letter yesterday About the time the door knob broke When you asked me how I was doing Was that some kind of joke?
All these people that you mention Yes, I know them, they’re quite lame I had to rearrange their faces And give them all another name
Right now I cannot read too well Don’t send me no more letters, no Not unless you mail them From desolation row

It's kinda funny, but "insight and brilliance" don't come to mind when I think of any of the Moes.

I worked at Aristos in 1978 before the blizzard. They made us wear jeans, plaid shirt and big cowboy hat. That was ok but I'm (or rather was) 6 ft tall!!!. We waitresses threw our hats out in the parking lot, put rhinestones up one leg and tie the plaid shirts at midriff. Tips skyrocketed. I was the worse waitress in the world but then we didn't work there for a career move!!!

I liked Twin -Aire driving , Tibbs is still there. double screen is cool. Pitch black at night around there after you leave the movie is like entering a horror festival lol
I use to go to the Morris Theater on Morris street on the west side, Small theater could see a movie for 50 cents,
There was Melody skateland until some fool burned it down.
Edwards was a nice place to eat at off Raymond street.
There was the Bowl -O-Mat at Twin Aire .
The gangs ruined it so it was torn down, Now welcome future ghetto housing on the site and old gas company site.
I liked going to they Mary Rigg center on Morris street on the west side of Indianapolis,
Lot of people I knew liked going to St PAULS and diving off the cliffs there or Brown County and Geist for tubing .
Aside from other state parks in Indiana, Not a whole lot
of other things to do for fun like out west where you can have tons of fun if the weather changes.
I don't know why they don't dredge the portions of white river that flow through Indianapolis and develop dock side apts and homes to make Indianapolis like Chicago . I don't mean financially I mean modern .There is all that land and waterway that could make the city look amazing if they developed that way, If you had boat docks all along that waterway and homes on the water and upscale highrise apts Not too high , I would keep it again homes and boats.
If they have had the money to finance the dome and conseco Surely they could find a way to finance dredging that stretch of white river flowing for many miles under Morris street bridge and Washington street Bridge , It would be a great view to loo down both side f the banks and see boats of all sorts and homes and walks an boats upon the river.

Who remembers Housemart the hardware store when it came to Indianapolis and as a worker you could wear roller skates lol and use clickers lol
I miss Arthur Treachers fish n chips , They had the best fish and I miss Burger Chef , i think after those Burger Chef murders It damaged them here in Indiana.
I loved being able to dress my own burger in how I liked it.
There is still the slippery noodle inn FOR BLUES MUSIC.
Broadripple use to be fun Now Ft Square is the new Broadripple .
Al gREENS AND THE TEE PEE WAS FUN ALSO. That was back in the 50 60 and 70's all gone now.
I loved going to Chili Burgers on Morris street , They has a slash white castle burger with chili sauce on it Very very tasty.
Greiners still on the south side making yummi subs, Just repaired due to a drug induced mental woman running her car through the storefront over an employee there for years. Now it's reopened again.
Peppy Grill is also still on the south side on Virginia ave
I used to play pool at Louie's pool hall until thugs ruined it.
