Had my Golden Retriever trained at Astro and had a great experience. Great staff and clean environment.

had my baby (german shephard) trained there. Doug did an excellent job training the dog and me. One on one training was the way to go.

We had our dog board there over the weekend and she came home with fleas. She was also throwing up. When I went to the kennel the day after we picked her up to talk with the staff about her condition, they were not helpful and were accusatory saying that the Frontline Plus that I applied to our dog the day before she went was not working. Her bed came back full of dead bugs. Her towel was full of another dog's hair. They were not concerned that my dog had a bad experience and did not offer any apology or way to fix the problem. I would definitly not recommend this facility.

If you apply Frontline the day before it does not work. It takes at least one week to get into their system. The staff at Astro has always been very nice and I can't imagine this behavior. I just dont want to see this kennel get a bad reputation. I take my dog there once a week at least and she loves it!

I have two dogs that i have boarded at Astro. Not only is it clean the staff is extremely attenive to the care they give your pet during their stay. My male had a small sore when i dropped him off and not only did they notice it...they treated it with antibiotc cream whlie he was there (without an extra charge!). I am shocked at the statement i read above! It sounds as if "dog lover" is ignorant when it comes to dealing with fleas on her own dog! astromis by far the best kennel around. don't believe it? Go see facility for yourself!

I personally have been boarding my dogs at Astro Kennels for over six months and have gotten excellent care!! I have never had ANY issues with fleas or any such thing. My dogs always return to me happy and healthy. The staff is another plus, everyone is very friendly and the on site groomer is a definate plus! I would recommend this facility to everyone. They also have excellent trainers who will cater to whatever type of issues your having, or if you just want a refresher course.
As for the review listed above, if you administer frontline a day before it will not work; it takes a week to be fully effective. Knowing the staff of Astro Kennels I find it very hard to believe they were not helpful they have always done everything to accomadate mine and my dogs' individual needs! And as for the vomitting, did you ever consider it could've been stress. Some dogs become stressed very easily and that may have been the case. The fact that she was throwing up the following day is not an indication that it had to do with the kennel.

Astro Kennels is the only place I would board a dog. Doug is the greatest trainer in the area. The Kennels are clean and the staff is amazing. I've been totally impressed from the first minute we walked in . The place is so clean you could literally eat back where the dogs are kept. The care my dog has received is the best!

I highly recommend Astro and their committed staff for any dog and owner.

We were highly disappointed with our experience here. When we picked our dog up they could not locate her bed, which in my opinion should have been in the same kennel that my dog stayed in. This led me to believe that she did not sleep on her bed all week. Upon further examination another dog's hair was all over our dog's bed, so my dog slept on a concrete floor all week. Her nylabone was not given to her as requested. Another dog's food bowl was in her bag which is another red flag. When we got home our dog used the bathroom like she had been holding it all day. When I called to express my concerns they did not care at all. They have a bunch of children running the place.
