Police in Allentown are investigating their first known homicide of 2009. Bullets flew before the sun came up in one eastside neighborhood this morning.

It's sad that these people have to live in fear and are afraid to even leave the house for fear of being involved in a shooting or fight. Maybe you need to contact the police on a daily basis and let them know what is going on so they can patrol the area more often. I don't know if it will help, but it beats living in fear. I don't think Allentown will ever get back to a decent place to live. It's sad what has happened to this area. I say its time to lock the PA borders and keep these scum bags out of here.

calling the police doesn't work anymore i'm a home owner in allentown and don't see the time to sell and leave. I call the non emergency several time for drug activities next door and they don't do anything. my neighbor rent rooms and different people and in and out all day I feel so bad for those people in fear cause i'm 2.

My most sincere condolences for the relatives of these 2 persons.
It is very sad and deplorable how this city and many others are turning into war zones caused by drugs, arms trafficing,gangs,roudyness, disrespect for law & order and neighbors and depravity, etc.

Yes many undesirable people of all ethnicities have moved in (there's only 1 race ... the HUMAN RACE regardless of color or ethnic) but that does not mean all are like that. Besides, a percentage of crimes are committed by so called "WHITE PEOPLE". So the problem is really human nature influenced by environment, society, turning their backs on God, especially SIN that only HE can solve in us.

I am a very proud working, tax paying, non-welfare dependant, mortgage-paying, God-serving-born-again-christi an AMERICAN with Puertorican roots having been born and raised in NJ and now a very good citizen of Allentown, PA in the midst of all the crime around me. Currently I've helped employ at my job 1000's of people in Lehigh Valley but 90% are hispanics because the "white people" don't want warehouse work. So ALL OF YOU don't be judging me or any other by ethnicity with your biased racial comments. In some occasions you may be right but not all Puertoricans or hispanics are how you all describe, many so called "white people" are also to blame or even worse. There is no perfect race, we all are sinners and need GOD in our lives. That's the main reason this society and the rest of this world regardless of having so many "religions" are in this condition today and it will keep getting worst until GOD himself finally steps in. "If you all don't repent, all will perish equally" Christ said.
