Well, he ran out of wives to give away after he threw brothers out. He had to get them somewhere. He thought the nursery might be a good place to look.

Truth is no woman wanted tony. So what he did is told lies about the brothers (well the brothers with backbones) to these women behind the brothers back. When that didn't work tony just started with the much younger girls. Of course he said 'God" told him to do that. Utter nonsense.

Tony, my mother died. Can I go to her funeral?

Answer: You're in the group. Let the dead bury the dead.

I can't imagine a more horrific experience for a woman than to be married off to any of Bernie's inner circle of thugs.

Charlie Manson used the women to keep the men loyal. I sometimes wonder if Bernie does that too with the young girls who remain. Apparently the parents didn't try to stop Alamo from molesting and abusing their kids so what's to keep him from doing it now through his minions?

Interesting point. If you look at foundation history if one person was asked to leave his/her entire family would be required to leave also. This is something SA insisted on. After SA was out of the picture TA immediately started splitting up families. As you mentioned this is another avenue of control.

The parents didn't stop TA from taking their children. Yeah weird huh?
Will the chief minions start their own array of wives? Good question. Stay tuned.

I continually ask myself how we could have been so naďve to allow ourselves to be subjected to such abuse? If it was innocence on our part, were the grifters always on the make? I think so.

Apparently Manson used a innovative kinder, gentler brainwashing technique than Alamo and probably most other cult leaders.....

I always preferred Lenny Bruce's book "How to Talk Dirty and Influence People". Much more entertaining.

The only difference between men and women was that women always had headaches and didn't like whistling or cap guns; and men didn’t like women—that is, women they were married to.

brother d, You might recall there was a policy started by SA about a year or two prior to her death. That was; a day off every week. In other words everyone got a day off to sleep in, do laundry, or whatever. You were not required to do any "work duties" on your day off. No it wasn't Sunday. As you could imagine "days off" were eliminated after SA died.

I don't remember ever getting a day off unless I arranged it myself.
