A lot of that pressure that was placed during the altar calls could be attributed to unfettered zeal - overblown, perhaps, but I would not categorize it as insidious.
The question I have is that there was no doubt to the presence of some very supernatural things going on -- and they were things that were the same as what had been seen in previous revivals like Azusa St. Why then, did things go so badly once Susan died? I can be said that even before that, things started getting weird, but why did something so obviously good go so bad?
