No harassing here Old Friend! I refuse to stand back while people keep in the cycle of welfare. WE (Taxpayers) are sick of it!! and for the children, You had them, you raise them just like our parents did for us. You set home long enough with no electric or food you will get off your lazy ass and find a job or better yet bring back the POORHOUSE and thats were you go when have no were means of paying your bills and the area churches fund that!

first off i work and my family works but sh*t still gets hard and the way the economy is, is the reason for the welfare? there r people who can't work and its not cause they are lazy it cause there is not any jobs! jobs are hard to find and one day you may need some help from the government and then what? i will tell u what u will gladly except the help cause people somtimes need help!

I agree some need it..but 7 out of 10 cases are fraud, at least in this area. I see people all the time that could get out and work sitting on their asses ,getting high or drunk on my dollar and laughing at those of us that are working 2 or 3 jobs.

If they want a job, go to the fast food restaurants, they are always hiring. where there is a will there is always a way.

and blaming the economy for what has been happening for decades is a load of BS too.

i agree with u bbb in some ways but lets face the facts there is nothin we will be able to do bout the ones who doesn't need it! but most restaurants only have people who do drugs workin for them! but what is a avereage persons income after taxes and insurance are taken out! some people that don't work are useless i agree but i have met some people who want to work but cant find a job! restaurants are fillin up with emplyees and most doesn't want or need anyone else!

Welfare benifits equal more per hour than meaningless taco bell jobs.Jobs like that actually cause you to get less aid.

I found it exceedingly outrageous that you people can get on here and confirm the state our country is in, and the immoral embarrassment you have placed on the poor. There are people in this country who are so prideful that they refuse to go and ask anyone for help because of the way you speak towards people who need help. Therefore leaving a lot of innocent children to go with out.

The bible says that if a poor man comes to your door and you do not feed him , and turn him away ,that you do know Jesus . Because Jesus could be that poor man knocking.

Also it is easier to fit a camel through the eye of a needle that for a rich man to get into heaven

You all value money more that the poor. You condemn the poor , well let me tell you they have a better chance of getting into Heaven , because they are poor and humble. They do not value worldly riches as you do. Jesus feed the poor ,healed the poor, and most of all loved the poor.

Some of you on here have downed Children , said horrible things about a young mother. That is wrong !! I dont care what that women did concerning welfare ,its wrong for you to say those things against innocent children. Instead of bashing people why dont you consider the consequences of your actions? Why not do something to help someone ?

I agree people should work and stand on their own two feet !! However your not helping your making things worse, by criticizing and bashing them.

HAHA Let me tell you something , my home , my car and everything I own is paid off !! I had a house full of children , put myself through college and ran our family business. I most likely have more than you could have ever dreamed of having . I came from the poor house , But I would never ever hurt people the way you have. And I would give it all away if I thought it could help someone else !! I will have all my riches in heaven , worldly riches mean nothing. So chew on that !!

I agree that some people shouldn't get benefits. If you have to lie to get assistance then you should not get it because obviously the government says you don't qualify. It's a sad cycle. People that really could use some temporary help are turned away because maybe they have a job or their spouse has a job but sometimes that just isn't enough. It bothers me that I work hard to take care of my family, however, I still can't afford Dr or Dentists appts for anyone but my child. It's not fair that just because these other people get welfare and do not work they and their children can go to the dr or dentist whenever they need to. They don't have to sit for months with the same toothache. I say the government should have a time limit on benefits. Instead of someone being able to live off of the system for years and years, they should get help with the stipulation of job training being completed then help them get a job. After all this if they still don't have a job, cut them off. Give someone else a shot.

Helping people is one thing but letting others take advantage of the government is another. But the government lets them, they tell them if you go to work you will lose all your benefits. That is why they won't work. they should assist them for maybe a month to get them on their feet once they get to work but after that they should take care of themselves like the rest of us. You take a person that works and pays taxes and medical insurance still pays out $$$$ when they go to doctor and those that don't (the ones that can work and don't) can go get medical attention and meds for free or little of nothing. But the one working can not get assistance even to help pay for what their insurance doesn't cover. The government would really be hurting if everyone felt this way ... Lets stay home and receive check and free assistance.. where would we be then??

When the government pays people to live in gov housing,gives them money according to how many kids they have,free rides to city food banks,pays for the kids school fees,free medical for the whole family,utility assistance including 1/2 price phone service,food stamps,why should they work?
MY question is how many palms are getting greased & how much is getting skimmed off the top by greedy gov officials.its all about greed corruption and power.

And your point being? Yes, let's encourage people to sit on their fat lazy asses because they'll get more money that way than actually getting a job and honestly working for it and working their way up the food chain.

I'm aware that working at a place like Taco Bell isn't exactly the most glamorous of jobs, but it's a start. It's better than watching taxpayers money feed and clothe lazy, incompetent people.(And by no means am I saying that all people on Welfare are this, but the majority of them are, which is where the system fails miserably.)
