I am NOT doing this for any kind of attention or spotlight. I am doing this to STOP the abuse of power that the principal and vice principal have been using on kids at the high school. I am not going to stop until this is fixed. We all have our crosses to bear and this is my cross. You can ridicule me all you want, but I will continue on, carrying my cross, no matter how long it takes me to make changes that ensure every child is treated fairly.

Sounds like they didn't believe you, Mr. Police Officer, because NO ONE must have saw it but you. It's is nice to know that at least before Jenny and Clay were in charge they had to have a thing called proof. Unfortunately for you, they did not find you very trust worthy and no one else to substantiate you version of events. And you obviously do not know me at all, I have freedom of speech just like you. I CAN NOT BE SILENCED, CLUELESS. And what makes you think that because you’re a police officer is makes you right? It doesn’t. And tell again why kids don’t deserve an education and deserve to be harassed and targeted by the faculty. And if your so proud of being a police officer, which one do you work for? Not brave enough to let everyone know? Or are you just someone pretending to be a police officer?

I am very sorry that your children have had to face the real world before they have even got a chance to get started. I know how that feels. In high school I was a target of harrasment by the school and i can tell you first hand that it will forever be with your child. And for that I am sorry. But do your kid a favor have the hair drug test done. I know from experienc that urine drug tests can be passed in a matter of hours. My parents too had my back. The fought the school board and I recieved all the privaledges that they felt i was entitled to. But what they did not know was that while I was not hard into drugs I had began to experiment. It was the begining of my lies, the begining of alot of drug and alchohol problems that took years and Jesus Christ to fix. Fight for your children but dont forget they are human make sure you are fighting in the right dirrection. You are in my prayers.

I really, really believe the root of your problem is the administration - steming from Supt. office down to each school. This is a crazy school system, the whole county political scene is crazy. I can share my experience with Supt.'s office over the summer trying to get the parent portal open on Infinite Campus. Long story short - it took calling Frankfort to convince administration to get it open. Unfortunately, I was belittled by staff for even asking. This is probably the most unprofessional group of people I have ever encountered in education. Unbelievable unless I saw for myself. Call Frankfort - I can give you contact names and numbers. Call Mike Denham's office. You are right - these are our kids. The parents are responsible and can and should be held liable for our children but there is a thing called human dignity.

We should send them to another school or open up a private one. Them losing money will make them rethink their situation. Send them to Mason or Robertson there the two closest ones. Money talks

You are absolutely correct! The citizens of the Bracken County School System have no idea about the corruption in our school system. I don't know who you are but we need more people like you to clean up our school system. It is a shame what is happening to our children and their education.

I am already a private school. That's what they call you when you home school your kids. I tried to look at the other counties but you have to go through their Board of Ed and get on the agenda...(and the earliest they could possible start him was January, but there was no guarentee.) I could not let him miss that much school. It would be great if everyone would walk out because they can't have a school without any kids. I want to give the Board a chance to fix it first, but if that does not work I will probably run for the Board and find others that have the same outlook to run until we get a majority to make the changes needed to ensure that no child is left behind and is given an education.

Yes, you should run for the board. After today's Ledger coverage, you got some publicity already. It didn't sound like this thread, though. Maybe people should read what the paper reported. Sited some quotes from you, mom.

Thank you for your messages. It is nice to here all of the positive feedback. It is so nice to know that there are people out there that let me know that I am not crazy and that all of this is not a just a figment of my imagination, even though sometimes I wish it was all a bad dream and I would simply wake up, but it’s real. First, I do not want anyone to think I have blinders on when it comes to my children. I know that kids lie and they experiment with drugs. Mine are no different. I do not condone this behavior, but it is my obligation to protect my children and take all the necessary steps to help them when they are in "trouble." There is no doubt in my mind that if my children can be targeted and harassed by the principal and vice principal, others are being targeted also. This is not fair for anyone's child. That is why I am doing this. The children at school do not have any recourse if the school says they did something unless the offense gets them expelled and Bracken County seems to have an express lane to throwing kids out of school and deciding their fate instead of helping them. This whole situation has made me go back to school. I am currently finishing my undergraduate degree and will be going to law school afterwards. For this I thank them. I thank them for giving me the fortitude to strive for greater things. I am bettering myself so I can defend and save the kids in our county. And to ensure that every child is given a helping had to succeed.

All I can say is that Bracken County Schools just don’t have a very good learning environment. The schools are to tense, and the students are not happy. You can put all new people in that are fine, but the problem starts at home, how many parents actually spend time talking about school with their kids? Actually talking about school work, and not what’s the goings on.
It does seem that in the high school the principle and her little toy spend too much time trying to find something wrong, then wanting to help educated the kids.
As parents do what you think is best for your child, keep your kids home for a week if they don’t want to listen to ya, if you want change your going to have to make it, instead of having three people voice it on here.
On a side note, it’s not good for a child to hear their parent’s bad mouth a place they go to five days a week,b/c then the kid carries a negative attitude, and will not take it serious!

Thank you Lord. It’s good to know that prayers are heard. I didn’t think the media showed up, but they did. The spotlight will not be on me, but the ones in question. God bless us all. This is proof, prayer is worth doing.

If you really want to make a difference in your child's life, get off of this website and spend some time with them, and quit blaming everyone
else for your problems. If you have issues with a
teacher, coach, or principal, this website is not
going to fix your problems. Handle your problems
like an adult- you do know how to do that don't you?

This is not even about whether this child is doing drugs or not. I am sure the parents have dealt with whatever that issue may be. However if you are all paying attention they state they are not defending their child on that issue, they are doing what needs to be done. The issue is the way that they feel the school is targeting their child or children and how they feel about that. So before you go all psycho on the parents maybe you should read all of their posts( mom and dad) to get the issue straight because it is apparent that you are only reading what you want, not what needs to be read. If these parents were not doing what they felt was right for their child or children, do you honestly think there would be people supporting them on here. Remember that as long as it takes you to write a comment you could be sopending time with your child,. Practice what you preach!

I read the posts correct, they are saying even though their kid gets busted for drugs the school should overlook the zero drug policy and keep teaching their kids and if you read the paper it states that this is the fourth time in 2 years. How do you tell a drug dog to single out one person, get real.

They did not ever say their child got caught with DRUGS. NEVER NOT ONE TIME. They stated that the only thing their child was found with was a paper. What the purpose of that was for is not for you to decide. If drugs were ever found on their child they would not be defending them right now. This child served his time for the paper. Also even if a child were to get busted for drugs as long as they served their punishment, and it is not expulsion, then yes they should still be able to get an education. People make mistakes that is what we all do. Nobody is perfect and I am sure you know that. My main point, again, is that this might have all started with the drug searches and has turned into something more. Until yopu live a day in these parents shoes there is really not any reason to judge them. They are doing what they feel is right for their child and ultimately that is all that matters. Forget the whole drug issue and change the circumstances, if it was your child would you stand up for them if you believed they were being treated unfairly or would you just turn your back? Either way it is your choice what you do but these parents believe this is the way to protect future students from having to go through this in the future.

I’m not saying my son is a saint !Why keep bringing up the paper that was last year and he was disciplined for that already at school and at home. Kids make mistakes it’s our jobs as parent to pick them up dust them off and put them back on the right path. If caring if my kids gets an education and is treated fairly at school makes me a bad parent, then I’m guilty. There are 4 occasions when they searched my kids the paper is just one!! Remember this all started with my daughter. And they never found drugs in none of these occasions! In fact they never recovered any drugs in any of the dog searches at the high school . Goes to show the creditability of the dog. If the school has nothing to hide why the attorney? Why not let me talk? The answer is simple they do have something to hide!!
