County studio, apartment rents decline

If you're looking for a bargain, look no further than the local apartment rental market.

The price of a studio and one-bedroom apartments in San Mateo County have dropped slightly in the second quarter of the year while larger apartments only increased by a few dollars. Itís still 5 percent to 6 percent higher than last yearís average rents, according to a report issued Thursday by research company RealFacts.

In San Carlos they allow 2-3 families to live in a studio / one-bedroom apartment. Thats cheeper than living in a rodant infested flat in the TENDERLOIN.
