Decline in hospital admissions, cash flow issues, recruiting another community-based doctor and board meeting protocol were among the top items discussed at the Southern Humboldt Community Healthcare District Governing Board meeting on October 29.

New Board, new administrator.... 10 months later the hospital is near broke and half of the staff is gone. Hm.... Interesting. "Admissions from the ER were down 71%, with inpatient lab and radiology services also suffering declines of nearly 80%", "SHCHD a net loss for the first quarter of FY 09-10 of approximately $38,000, a 185% increase in net loss over the first quarter of FY 08-09" Wow! 70% and 80%!!! What is going on on down there??!!
