new fuel efficiency standards will not help us now. This is unbelievable. I'm being nice when I'm furious with these prices. I feel like I'm making two car payments a month just by paying gas. There is too much greed in this world.

Inner city folks better hope you are wrong, because they will have folks kicking in their door looking for something to steal and kill to get it. Right to arms? Our forefathers knew this could happen.

this is insane and the fact that there is no chance that anyone's salary is going to increase by 100% in the near future I think we are all in the same boat...already we were on a budget but now this is ridiculous...to add insult to injury the cost of eggs, bread, milk- OMG..milk- if you have children at home you know--it has to come from somewhere- so the trip to Colorado is off, the camps in Texas- are cut in half and they have to be within a 'reasonable' driving distance- talking to other moms- my bet is storytime at the library is going to be one of the hottest gigs in town this summer! oh well- we will make the best of it- this too shall pass-

I have no sympathy for owners who drive gus guzzlers. I blame Congress for giving into American car manufacturers who gave most Americans what they wanted - trucks and SUVs and Vans that drink gasoline.

today my husband i both had to fill up, His truck cost us $68, my van $76, had to turn around and pay a $300 electric bill, then tried to buy groceries. i had to cancle my health insurance to afford rising energy/ gas / and auto insurance prices. I cant cram my family into a smaller living space than i already have. cant get rid of the truck cause thats how my husband works. i really dont know what we are going to do. we are NOT coping. im trying to go back to school, but may not be able to do that cause i cant afford the gas to get there.

Yes, I would normally go to thing like scarbourough fair with my wife, but not this year. We also would like to see different amusement places, but again not this year. Our fishing has even dropped to twice a month because of the gas prices for our boat. The President does not care because his family made all of their money in oil and are still making money in oil. So where do we get help from.

I feel places like Mobil-Exxon are screwing the heck out of the American public so they can make a hudge profit and we the consumers may suffer and go without. Do the big wigs from Mobil-Exxon go without, "NOT" they buy anything they want and laugh at us. Do they have a had time meeting the price of gas at the pump, "NO" cause they buy it wholesale. If they do get if at the pump, do they have to worry, NO cause they have plenty of money.

It won't help enacting regulations that make manufacturers produce better mileage. The gas companies will just raise prices again until they are making what they want off of you. Or dilute the gas with even more ethanol causing you to get worse gas mileage.

there is no reason we have to pay these damn high gas prices. there is not, repeat not a shortage of gas in the u.s.we are at record high capacity in our tanks at the refineries at this time. this is another enron scam. we do not need to keep buying from opec.tell opec to kiss our ass. the president needs to step in and do something. its very simple. the american public should not have to take this.lower the prices, the economy goes up.

It is crazy that gas prices can be so high, but yet the large gas companies can still be making huge profits.

The gas prices are absolutely ridiculous. Someone is getting rich off of this. I don't understand why the government can't do anything, haven't they put price caps on things before? I don't even go out anymore unless I have too. I haven't had a full tank of gas in nearly 6 months, just because I can't afford it. I feel like I am working just to pay for gas. I am almost ready to call it quits with my car, and start taking the DART bus, god forbid. I don't want to do it, I am beginning to not have a choice. I know that nothing I say will change anything, but I just needed to vent!
The reason why no one in the government is doing anything about it is because they are the ones making money off of the gas prices. Yeah it's ALL "big brother's" fault!
That's also why no one's probably gonna be voting for a republican president.

TRAVEL OR YOU KIDDING!
I CAN HARDLY PAY FOR GAS TO AND FROM WORK FOR TWO VEHICLES.
TRAVEL IS OUT UNLESS THERE IS SOME CHANGES TO LOWER PRICES.
I THINK THAT OUR GOVERNMENT COULD AND SHOULD STEP IN AND STOP
THIS MESS ASAP.

40 years ago -.30 per gallon vs.$4000.00 annual income.
Todays gas prices would be over $6.00 per gallon, quit whinning.

The first thing that must happen is to put a stop to the EPA and their air taxing regulations that do nothing to help produce clean burning fuels.
There must be 1 formulation of gas for the entire US.

The government mandate of higher gas mileage causing the price of already over inflated car prices to go even higher.
The low quality fuel we are being forced to pay over $3.00 a gallon for will not produce higher milage in a reasonable size vehicle.

Consumers must read and under stand volmetric efficiency for car engines. Every thing being forced on the auto makes now goes against volmetriv efficiency, which makes cars get less mileage and cause more pollution.

We are being taxed for air through auto inspections to see if our cars are burning the dirty fuels we pay $3.34 a gallon for.
The gas should be cleaning burning before we are forced to purchase it.

Auto inspections could be stopped and consumers would have more income left to spend in the economy.

Consumers wake up, it is the government causing the infaltion, not us.

The cost of government is killing our econimy and country.
