Actually I am glad to see a new person do the 5-7am weather now. I was always upset that B. would never get the forcast correct half the time. And what would amaze me was that you would watch the 10pm news and then 7 hours later at 5am, B. would completely change all the data that was given by the weatherperson at 10pm the prior night. Plus she would give a forcast for sun, and then 2 hours later it would pour down raining. So, I for one will enjoy some new blood and a change for the beter in my opinion.

Congratulations and good luck Jennifer. I wish you well but I'm sorry to say I won't be seeing you. After Rebecca's unfair firing, I no longer watch that joke of a television station, Channel 5. Watch your back if someone younger and thinner comes along...

I wonder what Harold Taft would have said about all this. It was Taft who hired and trained Rebecca, and Taft was quite picky about who worked for him. I've never known Rebecca to be anything but a competent meteorologist.

What a moron....the weather changes all the time. Did you actually expect it to stay the same as 10pm the night before? NBC5 is just a Channel 8 wannabe and the news director is trying to justify her staying in her position. Hopefully the higher-ups at NBC Local Media will see her true performance and give Susan Tully the ole "GE" heave-ho, over the deck she goes.

I find it odd no one has brought up the fact that the new meteorologist has the last name of LOPEZ...and that might have something to do with the change. KXAS may have a competent weathercast team but it couldn't be more whitebread in a market that is diverse ethnically and becoming more so. Jennifer Lopez has pretty much the same credentials as what Rebecca Miller has, so it's not as if the station is dropping the bar. That said, I stopped watching Channel 5 a couple of years ago when it started running stories about people hitting each other with baseball bats in someplace like Mt. Pleasant. It's become all about ratings and little about quality, and this is just part of that poor-management philosophy.

Ms. Miller is older, overweight, and white. Huh. Enough said.

More and more Hispanics are being recruited into the media. Pay close attention sometime to the names of anchors and reporters for various stations, especially here in Texas. Stations like Channel 5 are going for the demographics - never mind something like years of earned experience.

Sometimes, Channel 5 comes across as "tabloid tv" and their website is the worst, as it reads like the garbage Enquirer. No one could look at that website and think of professional journalism. They clearly aim for sensationalism over journalistic credibility.

Rebecca Miller was my reason for watching channel 5 am. New one is a joke. Will be watching elsewhere for my morning news.

Rebecca Miller was a breath of fresh air every morning. She has so much energy and a great smile. Her delivery was different every time she presented.

This is a huge loss for Channel 5

I am saying goodbye to Channel 5. Rebecca, let us know where you land!....We will follow
