We really don't know what was going on in her head, and we don't know the facts. I think some of us are just jumping the gun here.

Read the story. The baby was still born and 11" long. She did not kill it she had a miscarriage.
I don't think she was trying to do anything wrong she just didn't know what to do.

They need to lock her up and throw away the key. Someone who tells several different stories of what happened and on different days, is guilty of a serious offense. It is a good thing that the Lord above took the baby when he did. Can you imagine the torment that baby might have had to go through if he had lived?

I totally AGREE!!!!!!!! This is just a replay of the baby in the airplane toilet. Where were all of you for that chaos filled sermon? This was pretty much a miscarriage. The fetus was already dead and she may have been in shock. There might have been alot of blood and she couldn't think straight. She may have even been close to passing out.

So before you go and say she needs to die, turn the gun on yourself first. I only wish death on those who deserve it i.e. criminals, rapists, murders, pedophiles, etc. A woman who had a miscarriage and then attempted to flush it does not deserve to die.

Now to add insult to injury, it is in the news, people know who she is, she is in frickin jail and people, like the morons who say she should die, are now making something very personal and tragic their business.

Why are some people not reading this story? Where are some of you getting this whole "Give her the death penalty" "She murdered her baby" crap? Do you not know what stillborn means? A still birth is when the baby dies during gestation and is expelled by the body a short time after. That means something was inherently wrong with the fetus or pregnancy that caused it to self abort. Miscarriages happen all the time. Sometimes even only a few weeks along, and its nothing but a bloody mass, and you flush it away. Granted this stillborn fetus was much more than a bloody mass, but really...what do you do in that situation? I honestly don't know. There are many stories lately about how some woman improperly handled her stillborn fetus (I say fetus because its not a baby, its a stillborn fetus), and all of you scream "SHE SHOULD HAVE DONE THIS INSTEAD! STUPID @#$% SHOULD KEEP HER LEGS CLOSED". Point your finger, you have three pointing back at yourself. Nowhere did it say she didn't want her baby, nowhere did it say she killed it.

Really, what is the proper procedure? I'm asking, what is the proper procedure for handling a miscarried fetus? Does anyone really know or are some of you just going to call her names and recommend the death penalty?

You know what the thing is? The photo of this girl is what probably got people all riled up.
I automatically thought something when I saw her picture, and had all these preconceived (sorry, perhaps a poor choice of wording) idea of what kind of person she is. That is wrong, and I am sorry for thinking them.

Another thing is this: how would this fetus be able to breath on it's own, being at such an early stage of development? Why would authorities expect the woman to check a stillborn fetus' vitals?

I agree with the majority of the people here, the woman did nothing wrong, more than likely was in shock and panicked. She does not deserve to be in jail and is probably in need of psychiatric help right now, I know I would be if I had miscarried a baby.

My heart goes out to her and her loss. Poor woman.

Honestly, who is prosecuting this case? Did this person get their law degree out of a cracker jack box? How can you physically abuse the physically dead? Who's bright idea was it to incarcerate this woman? Seems to me that the tax dollars would be better spent on real criminals instead. I want my money back, I'm dissatisfied with the product sold to me.

Are you serious you don't know what to do? No wonder the world is in the mess we are in, GO TO THE HOSPITAL OR CALL AN AMBULANCE , they will dispose of it with more dignity than you obviously would.

My sister-in-law was pregnant, she thought she had to pee, and when she sat on the toilet,the fetus came out. It is natural, what should she have done? Not every woman can have a perfect pregnancy. I bet you this is more common that what you hear about.
What should you do? Maybe someone should tell us, because these poor girls are getting in trouble for something that unfortunately happens some times.

I consider myself to be pretty smart, like the rest of you. Maybe it's because I'm a guy, but if you are pregnant, and say 3 months into the pregnancy, the dead fetus flops out in the bed while you are sleeping. You really have to call an ambulance? Naturally if there was pain and blood, you would call 911 or go to the ER.

Didn't some lady just have a miscarriage in a plane, and leave the fetus in the toilet also?

I think this is a serious matter, because no one every told me what to do in a situation like this. Of course, being a guy, I don't anticipate this being a problem.

Maybe the goverment should spend some money advertising things like this instead of asking me if I "have milk" to support the farmers.
