I am anti new laws, but it is time to have a law that automatically assign women who falsly accuse men of rape the minimum sentence for the crime. In cases where the man was was falsly accused and imprisoned the woman would have to se serve the exact time the man had already served and have every dime taken from her, including retirements, Social Security, etc. I am against rape and believe women should train, get a permit, and carry concealed so she can kill a rapist before he can drop his pants, but putting guys in prison for a personal reason is BS.

paddyomalley, you are as blind as every other man that has a nonchalant view towards rape. Some men just can't understand what that kind of violation is like. It's has a reaching effect just like all other crime. Mothers of rape victims are distraught, maybe the woman was married and her husband's heart is broke for his wife. Her life IS NEVER THE SAME. Murder has a pesonal effect, stealing money from someone is a personal effect. Crime effect the victims PERSONALLY. You will never see the day when a woman serves time b/c the INVESTIGATION turns up with sometime's the wrong man. I do, however, totally agree with you about a woman's right to use deadly force on a guy who is intending on raping her. I know it's what I'd do if I get faced with it.

It is tragic that our justice system has let these people down. There is no way these people can ever recoup the lost time or memories.

You are the one that is "nonchalant". I suppose you would tell me, if a choice was inevitable, that you would choose to go to prison for 25 years rather than be raped. And it is also quite likely that this man was also raped repeatedly while he served 24+ years of hell for a crime he did not commit. Your opinion is based on your limited view of imagining yourself as a vitim, rather that than looking at ALL of the facts and issues.
"maybe the woman was married and her husband's heart is broke for his wife." Sure, and maybe it could be a hooker that is angry because her John didn't pay. She wants a rapist to be brought to justice who is only guilty of theft of services for an illegal transaction.
