Stay strong TWU and stay united with the other two unions at Anerican!!!! This vote not only affects those at American Airlines but represents the mere importance of strong and effective organized labor in this cruel, unbalanced economic society that threatens the very existence of the shrinking middle class! Corporate greed HAS got to stop!!!!!!!!

I work for American airlines and am represented by the TWU .
This is the worst union ever, they hold a gun to your head and take dues. talk about shared sacrifice that they have been yelling. Ask our TWU leadership both local and international how much sacrifice has come from the union. all sacrifices have came from the workers.
None of these so called leaders telling you to vote No are going to lose there jobs. This union and its leaders only care about your dues. Do not listen to there lies and vote YES

That is what you get when you have a union. At Delta we have no union we work WITH management, not against them. You would never see this sort of thing at Delta! EVER! Unions are a thing of the past and should be GONE! Hands down just like this "occupy" crap...just that crap! Get over it you are there to do a job. Don't like it?!?!? Get another or start your own business. Unionized American airline employees are nothing more than crying screaming babies! GROW UP! Deal with it!

You don't suppose that U.S. Airways is promising the union leaders a special sweetheart deal for them if they convince the rank and file to reject the AMR contract offer?

Gives U.S. Airways a leg up for a stronger merger consideration by the bankruptcy court.

Just a thought!

If it's true, boy wouldn't you just love to work for them and see how well they deliver on their promises.

Were it not for unions the company would already have imposed it's oppressive rules. I hope you never laern that first hand

If I vote yes, my station is closed. Our bottom FTer has 25 years. Move over little dog, the big dogs are movin' in. If I vote no my station is closed. Here is my hope. This is only a theory, but hear it out. If the last bet offer (scary thought huh) fails by a narrow margin, MAYBE the judge will hold off on rejecting the contracts and send everyone back to talk. The company cannot impose the 1113 ask until the contracts are torn up. They are rather presumptious about getting thier way. Too be fair history is on thier side.(Balanced scales of blind lady justice my arse). This will buy some time, maybe sweeten the offer to get us old folk out the door.

I would say, "be careful what you ask for". I think aligning with USAir would be jumping from the frying pan into the fire. They are the lowest paid airline in the USA and have taken full advantage of the two pilot group's internecine battles to keep it that way.

I have long been opposed to a USAir merger, for a laudry list of reasons. I now support it. They are a bridge to retirement AA isn't offering. With all of the downsizing and layoffs in the last 10 years the ramp work force at AA has gotten older and more beat up. USAir offers to keep things status quo in the beginning. If thier current history is any indicator, it will be years before they iron things out. There is a real good chance they too would be driven back into bankruptcy. I am not dilusional,USAir is not a knight in shining armor. With any luck that will get me to early retirement age. Last time I said this I was called out for it.. However... I'm thinking of myself, I'm looking out for #1.... HECK YES.... I had relied on AA to do that for me, and it's not working out to well, so it's time for a tougher more self centered stance.. I owe it to my family.

WELL, JUST KEEP IN MIND AAL UNION MECHS, THE TWU GOT YOU TO WHERE YOU ARE TODAY SO I WOULD NOT BE WORRIED ABOUT DOING WHAT THEY SAY.
ALSO, TO TOAD;
IF EVERYTHING IS SO GREAT AT DELTA WITHOUT UNIONS, THEN WHY DID YOU GUYS GO BANKRUPT BEFORE THE LAZY A?

...and non-reving will be just a happy memory from your days at AA. USAir employees board by seniority (many with 40 years +) and there is no "thru" when you get into a hub to connect. You will never get on a plane so forget it...

I think the more appropriate question is why didn't AA go when everyone else did? It was a poor business decision. They just drove themselves deeper in debt and are now making the cuts more painful than they would have been if they hadn't waited. Many careers were ended at Delta when they went BK and pay was cut. There is nothing a union can do to stop it. It is going to happen. Each person has to make the best decision possible for their family with the information they have. Vote yes, vote no, don't vote at all, it won't matter. The company will get done what they have to get done. The best the remaining employees can hope for is that AA comes out as AA. To combine with USAir will only make things worse. They don't have good management that know how to merge work groups. If they did then they (America West/USAirways)would have it done long before now. Delta's merger with NWA is a text book example of how to merge. It was not without bumps mind you but USAir is the poster child of how not to merge. The reason that USAir is trying to work things out prior to the merger is because of the example that Delta set with it's (DAL and NWA) pilots union. Good luck AA employees.

TO; DFW FRED;
FRED, MY POINT HERE IS THE TWU IS IN BED WITH AMERICAN AIRLINES MANAGEMENT. THEY ARE NOW, THEY WERE THEN AND THEY ALWAYS WILL BE.
I DO AGREE WITH YOU SAYING IT WON'T MATTER IF UNION MEMBERSHIP VOTES YES, NO OR DOESN'T VOTE AT ALL. IT'S ALL IRRELEVANT.

Why does the company constantly omit the fact that the Unions gave up 1/4 of their pay and benefits when the other airlines filed Bankruptcy????
This is the SECOND hit they are asking for! Lets rewind all the way back to Don Carty !!!! This broken record equals bad management, AND the management style of Frank Lorenzo. Bleed it out , sell profitable routes and assets, and send the rest to the Air and Space museum to collect dust next to Eastern Airlines memorabilia! The Unions are fighting to get a management team in place to ensure a future for the employees, the consumer, and the areas that benefit from air commerce.

just to let the public know and other airline employees even though the union {yes the union}screwed up when we had a chance to get a contract with a signing bonus and pay raises and a nice package for those of us who was eligible and all we had to give up was cabin service this best offer contract is the worst in my 24 years at american airlines and i have the twu union to thank for that. but like i was saying i have no other choice but to vote yes for this final offer because me, myself, and i alone have to pay the rent,the phone bill the electric bill, the water bill, the cable bill, the car installments well you get the picture and nobod else pays them for me. so those of you want to vote no i really hope you win the lottery or your uncle or rich associate gives you money every month so then you could have time to ponder on all the what ifs. for me i am still getting a salary and i could still provide some food for my family. But it sucks for the union as a business because now they have to collect less money from the twu union employees. The person who said that the unions are a thing of the pass is correct because in the pass the unions did the job they were getting paid to do and back then that was good but now they are just collecting money freely because they surely did NOT do anything that was for the benefit of the employees. If you dont believe me just take a look at the final "BEST" offer.

Yes is a 2% paycut, and you get 1% back in 3 years and recoup the 2% after 6 years... a no vote gives us raises..... the fact is either way I lose my job here and have to move

The merger is in the works folks...USAIRWAY with the quiet help from the IAM, who represents USAIRWAYS workers will strike a deal and together will pursue the purchase of AMR. There is way to much money at stake here for both USAIRWAYS management and it's union. This is a "CASHCOW" for both Parker and the IAM and they will not let it go by quietly.

Yea unions WILL be a thing of the past because of weak and scared union brothers that feel they have to vote YES!!!!!!! Unions are as strong as their people and if u have no pride or morals and want to support managements shameful concessions a second time around then shame on YOU!!!

Yea u are right in that a NO vote will at least allow u to keep your pay-a YES vote is a pay cut and if u think it will just be for 6 years think again!!! You are looking at AT LEAST another 8-10 years as long as the same management team is leading AA-remember folks, AA has said with a NO vote, they would go to their original 1113 ask, which did NOT touch our pay rate!!!!! Now if you want to be a complete idiot and vote yourself a pay cut then go right ahead!!! Let's see how happy you are knowing with a YES vote you will be making the same amount per hour in a 20yr time span!!!! Read the information that's out there and know the facts please!!!!
