We've gotten certain reading glasses for years from Cunningham's and the attendants have been helpful in getting the one's my husband really liked. However, I just reordered 2 more pair and when I got home, my husband took them out of the plastic and noticed one was cracked right by the hinge. He never even put them on or took the stickers off.
Cunningham's were not pleased when I brought it back. They said they would oreder another pair.
Well, when I brought the second packaged one home, I found it also had a moderate crack in the lens. I should have opened and examined it before bringing it home, or they should have done that to confirm I didn't cause the crack.
I called them right away and when I went back, the 'boss'(I assumed it was the boss) called the one who did the ordering and others gathered around discussing the problem. It was obvious to me they were not happy, but they ordered another one anyway.
Today when I went in to pick up the third pair of glasses, the manager said, "You know you need to be placing these on your face with both hands, the manufacturer wants me to remind you of that, because we can't resell what you bring back. We have to throw them out".
I told him the cracks had nothing to do with how my husband was putting the glasses on, they had come that way. Two other gals standing there looked at me with disdain and made me feel terrible. There was no excuse for treating me like that. When I looked at the pair I was given, the same crack was there.
I just walked out. They won't be getting any more of our business! Guess the $25.00 reading glasses didn't warrant good customer service because they didn't make much money off of them. I was just a nuisance to them.
We didn't 'cause' the cracks. It was a manufacturing problem and instead of blaming the company

Our experiences have always been wonderful. We've done business for 30 years and have ALWAYS had great service. Some people look to place blame on others to avoid further charges, honesty is the BEST policy.

I have been to Cunningham for YEARS, and the service and selection there cannot be beat! I have witnesses some of the rudest and most hard to please people in there, and the staff at Cunningham has always been very professional and helpful. Some people are just difficult and everyone seems to want something for nothing. The customer is NOT always right.

Really!? You've been buying glasses there for how long, and you never remembered to open the package and check it? Really?! Somehow I don't really believe you. Really?!

Buying BEWARE!!! You can be given a receipt that shows everything is paid in full. Walk out of the store feeling good you went to a smaller place to get your glasses. Then TWO WEEKS LATER comes a letter that says despite the receipt that you received you still owe them money!! NO apology sorry we made a mistake giving you that receipt just a letter that says you owe money.
Not worth the legal battle. AT no time was the word pending used. I will not return to this store or any store associated with it. I am telling all my friends and co workers about the esperience. Next time I need glasses I will go to a large business who at least won't hold any surprises.
