His "religious" excuses are a hot load of steaming excrement. The Bible says, with utmost clarity, as follows:

1 Timothy 5:8 But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

This man is a scumbag, and has harmed his children, and he deserves prison. He is certainly not "a believer," because belief is followed by obedience, and no person who fails to love, nurture, and provide for his children, is a follower of Jesus.

$500 A WEEK?!?!? Child support is supposed to be for half of the children's cost. You can't tell me those kids cost 4000 a month.

What about the 2 years that he is spending in prison? Can he pay then, or will he be behind again?

Actually Dan the non-custodial parent typically pays for 40% of the cost of living for his/her children. I am sute He has to pay arrearages for the years of non payment. At least once a year they recalculate child support, and tack on an extra payment to re-pay that which he did not pay for the period. Arrearages can add up quickly. My ex-husbands child support used to be $72/week for 2 children. Now that he hasn't paid off and on for 2 years his payment is up to $142/week.

I too am fighting a child support case with Florida. Unfortunately I have seen zero results in almost 2 full years. Glad to see that there is hope - maybe I will be able to collect on 7 years of back support!

Child support needs to go away. The noncustodial parents have to pay way too much. And if it does not I think that the custodial, child support receiving parent should have to claim it on taxes. Oh, and I pay and receive child support. I am getting the shaft paying way more than my ex should even need.

It is based on what the father and mother combined make, what the children were accustom to before daddy ran off.

WHY did it take so long for Indiana to do anything?

I know of a guy that is more than 60,000 in arrears he is a truck drive, Indiana has done nothing. Another guy the mother has constantly provided work addresses, home addresses and Indiana has done nothing. Indiana is not for the children or the custodial parent UNLESS they are on public assistance than they are more than willing to cross the country per-se to nab the tax return in which the State keeps and the child(ren) see nothing.

There are 6 kids Dan ... it comes out to about $83/week for each child, which really isn't that much these days. They also determine child support based on both parents' incomes, so he must have had a decent paycheck for the court to determine he could pay that amount.

$500/week, for SIX kids? Let's see... that's about $83 per kid. depending on ages... Oh, I see it easy. If he couldn't afford them, then they never should have had them.

$500 a week is actually $2166 per month, divided by 6 equals $361.11 per child. Not out of reach. Next time, dude, keep your pants on. You are lucky you don't have to pay more. Stop using religion as your excuse!!!

You must not have any kids??? SIX kids! Do you know how much child care is per week. The minimum is $ 100 per child per week. Thats $600 a week and $2400 a month just child care alone. Not even including food, shelter, clothes, etc. If he was paying from jump it wouldnt be $500 a week. That $500 prolly includes the back support he owes. And his religion is just an excuse to not pay. FATHERS TAKE CARE OF YOUR CHILDREN.

$500/week does not equal $4000/month
