New Amercian Working Class

Am I the only one who RESENTS getting up in the morning, dropping my kid at before-school care , and going to working knowing that I am working long hours to pay for other people to live?
I get up at the crack of dawn, yell at my kid to get up and practically drag him down the driveway warning him how we will lose our house, car, food, medical insurance etc.; if Mom loses her job. I then dump my kid at before-school breakfast, before it opens and he stands on the curb to wait, then I fly down the road praying that I am not late for work.
I pay for before-school care $, I pay for his breakfast $, I pay for his lunch $, his school t-shirts $, and I pay for after-school care $, and tutoring $$, I pay for two medical insurance policies $$, a house payment and insurance $$, car payment and insurance $, groceries $$, I pay for someone to clean my house $ so I can sit down and do homework with my son when we finally get home well after dark. The list goes on and on… and it should, this is the American Dream right. Maybe not… Maybe the American Dream is to have or should I say be ENTITLED to all of these things without working to pay for them. Is that the real dream? These are all the things that our grandparents expected to do, that our parents did but knew that a few people did not, and now that I now RESENT that other people don’t have to and they somehow have the right to all the things that I struggle and work not one but two jobs to make sure that we have.
I am realizing now that my son suffers for all of this. Not only does he get up an hour or more before his classmates, go without breakfast if mom forgets ONE DAY to give him $, have a strung out overworked mom, but he also sits at breakfast and lunch with kids who brag that they get their food for free and tease him that his parents have to work, he is actually embarrassed… like he is some kind of lower class citizen, when in effect he is, he is a child of the new AMERICAN WORKING CLASS, people who run and work themselves ragged while others don’t have to!
I have always learned to never complain about a problem without having a solution. So, how about this? If each person who works, and runs a household, and raises their children to do the same, could HELP one person. HELP one person to see the value of a WORK ETHIC, HELP them with a resume and job applications, HELP them with some office skills, people skills that will help them KEEP their job, HELP them to arrange transportation so that the entire ordeal is not so NEW and STRESSFUL, HELP them with SAVINGS and how to shop to SAVE $ and let them feel the PRIDE in earning their OWN WAY IN THE WORLD could each of us ONE PERSON AT A TIME help fix an ever growing problem? I for one am tired of feeling resentment and would rather use my WORK ETHIC to work toward a solution. Anyone else?
