Does anyone know anything about Emerald Towers West in Ft. Walton Beach? I know it is an older condo. It was recommended to me by a relative.

What are things to do in Ft. Walton Beach and Destin other than the beach?

Thanks.

We have stayed in Emerald Towers West 3 times and loved it. It was roomy, small complex so the beach is not crowded. We leave our canopy up all week and no one bothers it. If you are looking for a family friendly condo and beach that it not too crowded, it is great. It is also close to everything, so you don't have to travel far to get groceries or dine out. We are actually going back in June. Can't wait.

I didn't mention things to do. It depends on how much you want to spend. They have a water park, miniture golf, several different boat excursions, lots of good restaurants. Deap Sea fishing, parasailing, lots of rentals for the beach.

We are renting a one bedroom at Emerald Towers West...Just two of us older folks. The condo doesn't look very large but looks nice enough.(800 Sq. ft)

I've had several folks recommend restaurants and went to Trip Advisor.com and looked at the ratings of restaurants for Ft Walton Beach and Destin. Any suggestions? We're going in May but the weather should be fine, I hope. We are getting spring rates.

Thanks for giving me this information.

We stayed at Emerald Towers West and it was terrific. Nice rooms, right on the beach, great staff and we could watch the dolphins playing in the ocean right at sunrise.

We will definitely be going back. Not many folks there ....Not bothered with a lot of kids. Beautiful emerald water and white sand.

Also, we did eat at McGuire's Restaurant. The bean soup (18 cents) was nothing special. However, the steaks were excellent. Go there and see all of the $1.00 bills in the ceiling and around the restaurant.

McGuire's has the best Smoked Prime Rib. You must try it and the 18 cents soup.

Plus the 500,000 on taped on the walls and ceiling is amazing.

Did you price the bean soup seperately??? the steaks are great. they estimate approximately $500,000 upwards pinned to the walls and ceilings. McGuires also has another restaurant in Florida and that has another large amount of money sounds like a great retirement. for them. right off hand i forget the amount of money they thought it may be.
I love the sandy beaches and those Emeralds water are really nice.
Make sure and take in the Dolphin cruise and bring your camera.!!

Emerald Towers West is absolutely a great place to stay. It did not seem like an older condo as someone mentioned. I think it was built in the late 90s. It is so close to the beach and not "intimidating" like some of those huge condos. Plus, there are several one bedroom condos available. I don't think some of the larger condo buildings have 1 bedroom units plus they are not so close to the beach.

I will defintely return to this place!
