try some of the fast food places. it might be hard due to child labor laws to find him a job being that he is only 14 but you also can try calling the work force and see what they might advise you. great job on raising a responsible young man(:

I started working when I was 14...graduated high school...College...now I own a multi-million dollar company...guess what DAD...NOW I'm having fun. Encourage your children to work hard. It pays more often in the child's favor to know that their parents support them. My old man was a mean drunk son of a btch and I made my own way. ENCOURAGE YOU SON TO WORK IF HE WANTS TO.

I gotta give respect to a kid who WANTS to work at 14 years of age! Lots of kids these days are spoiled rotten and will probably never appreciate the value of a hard earned dollar. I wish him the best of luck in finding a job!

I started work chopping weeds on a cotton farm with my buddies family. Then I started the next job with my uncles roofing company. It was all seasonal but always had a job. Oilfield job didn't come til 16 when I worked tongs on Patterson rig BEFORE safety was so big and they only had 12 rigs. Jobs are out there. You may have to sign a work release of some sort. A formality really but it is possible. Restaraunts are always looking here in town. I'd hire him but my line of work is a bit dangerous.

I hope its the child that wants to work and not the mother that wants more partying money. Angels can get expensive. If it is the child, then yeah he's a great kid.

Work is the best way for our son to learn the value of a dollar and develop a good work ethic. I don't think he can be hired leagally at 14 but encourage him to make his own job by finding a need he can fill. What is he good at and what does he like to do. If he like animals maybe a dog sitting/walking service or ask if one of the vets could use someone to clean cages or walk animals. Maybe mowing or triming or watering lawns. Find someone who he could apprentance with. He could be an extra pair of hands and learn a skill at the same time. How about a mother's helper to play with younger kids after school so mom can get something done. Good luck to him!
