Jake Sullivan is a joke! He shouldn't be a patrol cop, much less Chief of Police!!! He has had 15 jobs in 16 years. 13 of those jobs were either as a college campus police or as a gated community security guard. He got his Bachelor's Degree ONLINE and he is as dumb as a box of rocks. He is currently being sued by several people from Whitney because he doesn't know what he's doing. He is a menace to society and I pray for Ft. Stockton and the people of this town. You're going to need it!

Instead of running your mouth, why don't you give facts and links to facts. Please show where he's being sued and where his 15 jobs were prior to coming here. You sound like another mental topix mouth runner. Maybe you don't like the idea of a police chief that might actually do something about the KNOWN drug trafficking going on in this town....

Amen. It's a shame that instead of beating down the "new" guy, that ALL of Fort Stockton is not welcoming him with open arms. We had one of the worst Police Chiefs in the history of Ft Stockton and we accepted his sorry butt, probation and all (which was never publicly explained), but many of us choose to question the "new guy's" background and history. I hope we hear from our new police chief on a weekly basis, and I hope he makes some headway with some of the issues he faces in this town.

I still find it funny that there was a MAJOR drug trafficker in this town, well know, running a store front cover on Dickinson, where another local law enforcement agency's cars could often be seen, yet this MAJOR drug trafficker had to be arrested in Midland. Smells fishy to me. And let's not forget the big Andrews Drug Bust which included arrests of Fort Stockton residents. I'm waiting to read "Fort Stockton Police arrest Fort Stockton Drug Trafficker" in the headlines instead of "Andrews Police arrest Fort Stockton Drug Trafficker" or "Midland Police arrest Fort Stockton Man".

So Welcome to Fort Stockton, Sully! Hope you can put a stop to some of this mess that's been covered up in the past!

Not much of an investigator or a cop but I know BS when I hear it you sound like a female out to get revenge for something the way you speak your sentences and emotional grammar leads to believe that your either a gay or female.

I find it funny, that people bash Sullivan's degree. Hmmm...before you bash it, look into it. His degree is through Mountain State University, WHICH IS A COLLEGE IN BECKLEY, WV. It is not Univ of Phoenix, etc... MSU is accredited and recognized just like any other major college. They are an actual campus with on-campus classes, athletics, etc... and have 2 satellite campuses. They allow cops to finish their degrees online just like you can do with any other college (UT, TCU, ATM, etc...). Many cops and military finish their degrees that way. So, before you slam those of use who only had time to finish online due to work and family, check into your facts. TCLEOSE monitors our education before accepting it.

this cheif of police isnt worth a crap!!! i know theres an officer that violated a female minor in school and i thought for sure the officer was gonnabe moved away from the children all the kids were talking about it but i seen him there the other day when i picked up my kid. then my kid told me that the officer went and arrestd the little girl slammed her against a cubicle and handled her like if she was a grown criminal cursing and calling her names i asked why she got arrested and my kid said because he said she smelled like cigarrete smoke this happened after she talked to police about the officer it doesnt matter who this little girl is what the officer did was wrong i dont care what excuse the police dept gave. well i did a little investigating myself and well just ask your kid about him. to the parent of the girl if i were you i would contact THE ACLU Theres two dept.s here in texas one in el paso the others in austin and then theres THE CIVIL RIGHTS ORGANIZATION im sure they would be interested. Hmmm...you may want to get your facts straight there...especially if you are talking about the "poor innocent little girl" who has several prior arrests for aggravated assault...wow, she is innocent huh?! And you're going to believe the gossip of kids? Cigarette smoke does not warrant being slammed on a desk, etc... Fighting and resisting does and she did.

I had to look back twice when I read, "Does not warrant being slammed on a desk" You tellin me a cop got out wrestled by a lil girl? As far as her being innocent on other charges, DOESN"T MATTER! what matters is the situation, hate the sin not the sinner you fkn' a$$h0l3

are you sure you have your facts straight because the aggravated charged was dropped. and if she faught and resisted arrest then why was the case completly thrown out by the district attorneys office. ill tell you why, she did not smell like cigarrette smoke. and as for several prior arrests wrong again. but the little girl that was actually smoking admitted to it and all the officer told her was " ill deal with you later" but nothing was done to her. the same little girl has since then been caught smoking several more times and nothing has still been done to her in school. soooo it sounds to me like your the one listening to gossip, and you need to get your facts staight

that wasnt the only incident the officer had with the (innocent) little girl you forgot to mention about garcia putting his hand inside the little girls pocket because he found pills somewhere in the school not anywhere near her or garcia wouldve given her the "pen test". but instead put his hand in her pocket! so of course the next time garcia put his hands on her she was furious. the officer did in fact violate the fourth amendment in this situation.

Maybe all of you doubters out there should have listened to Mr. Cassidy. Rumor has it that Jake Sullivan lied on his application to get the Chief of Police job in Ft. Stockton.

Oh...lol...and a little update on one of the lawsuits filed on Jake Sullivan and the city of Whitney: the City has offered the plaintiff a cash settlement because they don't want to go to court and make Sullivan testify in court. The plaintiff said, "No Thanks, I won't everybody to see what a crook and liar this guy,(Sullivan), and the mayor,(Gwen Evans) is."

Yeah...keep doubting Mr. Cassidy. Sounds like he knows a lot more about Sullivan than all of you do!

It is a fact that Jake Sullivan has not lasted long in any department. He is what is referred to as a "gypsy cop". 13 different depatments in about as many years sounds about right. Check his tcleose record. That part is public record. But you can't expect the city to hire a true professional police chief after what they had. The shock would be too great.

Let's see Sullivan isn't being sued but the previous Chief named Upton, google Chuck Upton in whitney. As far as the jobs how do you expect one to get experience or what was said regarding Sullivan's references. What seems to me is that everyone want's to attack the fact that sullivan has changed things when Castro wouldn't. What's interesting is how if each of you that attack Sullivan or others on this blog, if you attended to your own issues, you would probably have fewer issues. But, that would be to hard since it is easier to attack someone else behind a blog.

It seemed Sullivan arrested several Coaches in Whitney for furnishing beer to students and sexually assaulting students. I wonder if one of the blogers (Cassidy) isn't one of Coaches spreading lies!! One Coach was named Garrett who moved to MO, Hmmmm.

It seems Sullivan is trying to do the right thing. But you can never make everyone happy and always cowards to attack others.
