And I can't seem to find workers that can pass a drug, alcohol and tobacco use screening. And many applicants have visible tatoos that I will not accept.

The use of Alcohol or Tobacco on ones own time should be irrelevant, You must work for Ward/Kraft.

Really tatoos. Tatoos shoould not be in the same content as drugs. I have four childred three of them with tatoos. They are all wonderful parents. And all are employed with good jobs to support their families. So I guess I'm thankful their employers don't share your point of view

Studies and our own experience show that alcohol and tobacco use drives up health insurance costs. And, no, I am not with Ward Kraft. And lastly, I don't care for tatoos and don't want workers with those representing my company.

Luckily as the owner of a local company I hire those people that best fit the organization.

I don't drink, don't smoke & have no tatoos. Looking for a job recently & can't find anything that pays decent wages. I don't want factory work and don't mind giving 110%. I've found that most business owners have high salaries & pay their employees the bare minimum. It's understandable that they should make more since they own the business & take the risk involved with that. BUT...why is it that they don't take better care of their employees?? I think a good employee is one of the greatest asset to a business. We need some decent paying jobs in this town again. You look at any successful business in town & the owner is driving a new car every other year, has a nice home, all the "toys" they want but their workers drive old vehicles that barely run, small homes (and probably owe money on both) and can't afford to have an evening out for a nice meal with their spouse. It's no wonder folks move away from here.

Unless "your" company pays 100% of the premium it shouldn't be an issue.
You are missing out on a very large number of qualified potential employees because of your prejudices.

You don't sound like a business owner to me, but rather a small minded HR person or head hunter.

The key is "visible" tatoos. I have the ability to hire those I feel will best represent my company.

They're having a job fair sometime in August. If you really want a job, you should attend and see what is available. The City Manager reported last week that there are several places hiring.

Ike tattoos either and alcohol and drugs in someone coming to work is not good for business! Thank you for your values. If I knew what your business is I would support you!

My company pays about 75% of our insurance premiums..so yes, it does matter!! It is a huge concern to an employer if an employee uses and is hi.est about tobacco use. There are also incentives to lower the employee premiums by healthy living!! It is an employers right to filter and hire employees that have good habits! Tatoos are another story....

You stick by your guns. You have the right to hire who you want for your company.
