People on government assistance shouldn't be allowed to vote. It's a conflict of interests.

The entitlement mentality, i.e. the destruction of the fundamental morality and maturity inherent in personal responsibility, is simultaneously destroying America. The slackers and the proudly ignorant and the negligent and the loud/obnoxious hordes who believe that somebody else merely has to award them self-esteem are growing bolder every day. Emboldened with each passing liberal victory, with each gain by BIG GOVERNMENT. Notice how liberals use pejoratives like 'Big Oil' and 'Big Tobacco' and so on to vilify the private sector. When in fact nobody is forced to drive a car, smoke cigarettes, work at Chevron or Phillip Morris, or shop at Walmart. Consumers can choose another path. But talk about a MONOPOLY, the US Government takes some of YOUR money before you even get it, enacts legislation that panders to the voters they're interested in wooing, wastes most of the money regardless, and then demands MORE of your money to fix the problems they've created. And if you don't like it? TOUGH SH*T.

The hypocrisy of liberals is just further proof that liberalism really is a mental disorder. Crazy sucks, people. They protest the execution of guilty-beyond-doubt multiple murdering/kidnapping/raping sub-human monsters. But they demand the RIGHT to kill their unborn babies. They HATE "Big Tobacco" but they want to legalize marijuana and many other drugs. They HATE big, successful, companies but want more and more Government -- the most corrupt, least efficient, self-perpetuating entity on Earth. They HATE YOU you for being strong and independent and responsible and assured. They want you to be as self-loathing and fearful and irresponsible and and amoral as they are. They want you to pay for whatever they do, because they don't think consequences should be individually borne. It takes a village, the socialist mantra. The opiates of the asses.

The modern-day plantation is stronger than ever. The irony in that is disgustingly amusing. Misery loves company, and liberals are as miserable a lot as you'll find. Lower than pond scum, and less helpful to the ecosystem.

It's a culture war, and the good side is losing. Fight the good fight. Molon labe.

A lot of meaningless gibberish from a loser, your message is flawed and irrelevant, thats why you will never be in power again, Texas and Arizona will be blue before the next election which will guarantee victory for Hillary. Liberals are very happy today, we won, you lost, LOL

It would help if the Republican party would get their heads out of the sand and realize it is not 1950 anymore. Trying to win a national election when your base consists of angry, old, white guys while pissing off minorities, women and young voters under the age of 30 is going to result in defeat everytime.

The 1996 Freedom to Farm Act envisioned a move away from subsidized farming and into a free-market system. As a transition, the 1996 farm bill established a direct payment program to wean farmers off the government dole. Payments are based on a formula involving the historic production on a given plot of land in 1986. This set payment goes to the current landowner or farm operator every year.

The program has been maintained beyond its intended lifetime and now is a FEDERAL ENTITLEMENT program for farmers that costs the government about $5 billion per year. These payments are usually included in land value estimate, driving up land prices and rents and making it harder for small farmers to expand and new farmers to enter the business.

Recipients of Total Direct Payments in Bourbon County, Kansas totaled $797,000 in in 2011. Total USDA subsidies in Bourbon County, Kansas totaled $3.0 million in 2011. Check it out.

House Speaker John Boehner said EVERYTHING is on the table as we near the Fiscal Cliff, and I reckon this is one of those things. I sure hope the GOP stops all that obstructionist nonsense & works with Dems for the common good of all USA citizens.

The Republican argument against the president's re-election was pretty simple: GW left him a total mess, he hasn't finished cleaning it up yet, so fire him and put us back in charge. That was very short-term unrealistic thinking and the American people didn't buy into it.

Now Obama is a lame duck president and wants the Bush tax cuts to expire as they were intended. Who knows how much of the $5 billion USDA entitlements are on the line? We can only guess right now, but remember the Direct Payments were intended to expire back in 2002.

Let's say for arguement sake that gw did leave the whitehouse a mess..... what progress has obama made at all... u say he needs more time to clean it up but what has he done to start? Gave free money to the poor( who turned around and spent it on tvs and cars) instead of paying their bills with it.... that is why u cater to the rich.... they know how to invest in our countrys future..

Dogma like you’re spouting is what scared off traditional conservative GOP voters. They saw Romney pandering to extremists like the Tea Party & evangelical Christians and were scared off, so they chose to vote for a moderate Obama rather than an extremist Romney.

Obama, you are half right. Gas did spike up during the summer of 2008 to $4 per gallon. However, a year before it was $3 and in Novemeber 2008 dropped to $1.70. I think it dropped because of the "Hope and Change" that was coming. LMAO

There were 2 wars going on in the Middle East started by GW that greatly effected prices. Obama got us out of one & is winding down the other, plus he nailed Osama Bin Laden in the process. That gave folks a lot of good feelings about Hope & Change!

The biggest thing that won the election for Obama was Romney's inability to convince GOP conservatives that he was not a closet radical. The far right was very vocal. I’m talking specifically about folks like Rep Todd Akin and his “Legitimate Rape” theory; Rep Scott DesJarlais, a pro-life doctor who approved his ex-wife’s 2 abortions and urged his mistress to have one as well. I could go on & on about Rep Loy Mauch, Congressman Paul Broun, Rep Jon Hubbard, Charlie Fuqua …

Traditional conservative voters across the USA repudiated the extremism expressed by these people when they cast their votes for POTUS. For the GOP to stay viable on a national level it has to move away from the extreme right or it will not be a party of prominence for long.

Romey and Ryan were going after social security, were going after the railroad retirement, were going to take away money that families are getting to take care of disabled and taking away public broadcasting shows.

We the citizen's of the United States need to realize that Obama is our President and to work with him to make changes that affect out lives. We need to contact our Representatives that are suppose to have our welfare in their hands and tell them what is on our minds.

GoP - It sure seems you have put a lot of thought into your position. However, have you really thought it through? Do you really understand what you are saying?
Did you attend college? Was it a public university? Did you receive any college grants or state scholarships? If your answer was YES, you would not be allowed to vote.
Do you have a disability? Do you have any of a number of physical or mental incapacities? In a wheelchair, blind, schizophrenic, lupus (only to name a few)? If your answer was YES, you would not be allowed to vote.
Are you retired? Have you worked all your life, but now are drawing Social Security retirement benefits and Medicare?
Do you work for Walmart? Or any of the big box stores that pay their employees a substandard wage? Have you ever received rent assistance, LIHEAP energy assistance, or childcare assistance so you could work?
Are you a farmer who receives agricultural subsidies? Do you work for a bank, oil company, electric company, natural gas, or an auto manufacturer? Does your employer (or you) receive huge tax breaks because of a paid lobbyist?
Companies that benefit from government subsidies are just as dependent on the government as the guy who gets the earned-income tax credit or those who are on complete disability and have no earned income.
Be careful what you wish. All of these above categories receive government assistance and therefore fall under your proposed ineligibility to vote.
