I will never take anything to Larry again. He completely ripped me off by charging me for parts he didn't even put on my vehicle. Kept giving me the run around for weeks, it was one excuse after another as to why he wasn't done with my car. I can't understand how he can be so dishonest and basically steal someone's money. He gives a very good first impression, seemed like a decent guy. I don't know what is going on with him, if he's lazy or what, but I wish I would've known what this guy would put me through. I could have taken my car somewhere else and had it fixed in a few days instead of over a month with Larry and still not done.

We used Larry to replace the transmission in our vehicle. He had trouble getting the rebuilt transmission which was no fault of his own. Parts are very hard to come by now and many of them aren't right when you get them or the company just sends the wrong thing. I do not believe that he is lazy or dishonest and I actually saw him in agony over checking the prices on parts on the phone and having to tell a young couple the repair estimate and I could tell that he hated to pass on that bad news. And, if he were half as bad as this forum might suggest, he would have been out of business years ago and he does not seem to be hurting for business which is a sure sign that he must be doing something right.

I know for a fact he just lost a civil lawsuit for ripping a couple off on their vehicle and I know another couple he ripped off but they didn't sue. He replaced parts that were not even bad and after they paid him it broke down again and he would not make it right. They had to take it to someone else and thats where they found out that the parts he changed were not what was wrong with the vehicle. They paid $1200 to fixed a $100 part. The new mechanic fixed it for under $200.00. This guy is a very bad business man and I would never recommend anyone take anything to him and if you do get a second opinion.

I had a oil and antifreeze smell coming out from under the hood of my car and he told me I had to have the engine replaced. I know enough about cars that I did not believe him and took it somewhere else to get the job done. It was a pin hole in the radiator spraying on the engine fan so there was not puddle under the car, and the oil was from a leaking gasket. Spent $250 to get it all fixed and that was several thousand miles ago. I don't go back either.

Two years ago at the end of May I took my car to Larry's Auto Repair because I thought it was overheating. He said I would have to have a new motor because the head gaskets were cracked! I gave him $2000 and he said he would have a new motor in a few days. My car sat there all summer long! I kept checking every week and he would say the motor was there and just needed to be installed. He was sure he would get to it by "next week." I didn't know what to do because I had already given him $2000! Finally, in August, I was so disgusted I picked up my car, which still had the old motor in it. Nothing had ever been done to my car! To his credit, Larry gave me my money back. Now the rest of the story: I took the car to Findley's. There were no cracks in the head gaskets and,in fact, the only thing wrong was a bad thermostat--It had never overheated at all! The repair bill at Findleys was $60 and I'm still driving the car today! I had spent the entire summer without my car. I have since been told that he has a habit of telling people they need new motors no matter what is wrong with the car. I wish someone had been kind enough to warn me ahead of time.

A couple of years ago a friend took his Nissan to this shop and was told the motor would need to be replaced for about $4000. The replacement motor konked out at about the one year mark.

All those cars are just people who are being duped. I did business with the man myself, and was cheated out of 7 grand. Had him to do work that he charged hellacious prices. Took my car to someone else who told me that supposedly the work he had been claiming to do had never been done...herethereeverywhere i would recommend you do your business elsewhere...i would not wish this monster on my worst enemy...

My first check to Larry's Auto was for over $2000 for a new transmission. The second check in the amount of $1200 for clusters & housing and General Motors to reimburse me within 2 weeks for the $1200 check. So far, nothing! We'll see what happens after we file a law suit against him. Hopefully, it will close him down permanently so that he won't gyp anyone else. He even shook hands with me at the very beginning, which was a good gesture and a sign of honesty. No so in this case! This leads me to stay with my basic instinct that I have acquired in the last few years. You can't trust anyone - church members, best relatives, etc. Hope I've learned a lesson.

When he replaced our engine, he cut the thermostat out and put just the cap in. Then the car started to act like it was overheating. When we told him about it, he said that the gaskets were cracked and we would have to buy another new engine because the warranty had already expired. Then he tried telling us that our transmission was bad and that it needed to be replaced. The guy is a douche, a liar, and a bad businessman. I hope he goes out of business.

You are f***ing stupid. What you are trying to imply is that the poster is violating Larry's right to FACE HIS ACCUSER. That only flies in a court of law. Sorry, dumb sh!t, but you fail at being intelligent.

I will never use Larry's again, and when I hear of someone taking their car to him, I tell them right away what a mistake it is. We had him work on our two cars a couple of years ago. All in all, I would say we spent about $7,000 on all the repairs. He seemed like such a nice and decent guy. While one of our cars was at his shop the radio was stolen out of it, and they almost got the speakers too. I am guessing they got scared off before they got to them. I still continued to have problems with the cars and so took them somewhere else. We were informed that either the part had never been replaced in the first place, or it had been something else. It seemed like he would fix the cars and they would run great for a little bit, and then break down again. I told my husband that I was thinking he (Larry) was doing something to the cars to make them break down. Please, anyone in the future, do not do business with this man. I do not make a habit of saying bad things about other people, but I do want to protect other people from this man.
