My condolences to his family and friends, and may he RIP.
Would you people stop stereotyping? I drive a sports car with 100% clean record, never even been pulled over. I get passed every day by tons of SUVs and other avg cars. Just because a 2k lb sports car hits something 3x's the size means he was a bad person? How do the police know he was speeding? They don't. They ASSUME, and you all know what happens when you make an ASS out of U and ME. Wonder why noones whining about bikes for out running their gas guzzlers aswell? The lotus is the same only on 4 wheels in an enclosed cockpit.

actually not really
maybe you should study physics
this shows why SUV's should not be permitted on public roads
there is no reason for 6000 lb tanks on public roads
Gosh, I guess you wouldn't think too much of a cement truck, huh?

I would go with the laws of physics on this one. A 2K lb car causing a 6K truck to overturn? I'll take speeding for $100.
Very funny

I hope that the driver of the SUV learned a lesson from his part in this man's death.
Very funny.

This is New York.

New Yorkers don't learn lessons.

I remember this man. It was a weekend Morning and I was having Breakfast at Sweet Mama's in Northport with some friends. The guys noticed his Lotus right away, he actually parked outside our window next to my Saturn Sky and it was such a small vehicle that it made my compact look big.

A fan of the car came over and he was nice enough to let the total stranger sit in the drivers seat and took a picture with the guys camera phone.(Probably the last picture taken of the vehicle) Then Jeff proceeded to help his Mom (I assume) out of the Lotus, how cute was that, and escorted her into the restaurant for some breakfast.

My heart goes out to anyone that has to bury a child, at any age. This man did not look like a speeder, but I think vehicles like that with such abilities are a temptation and can be a hazard. When I bought my sky, turbo was an option but I passed on it rather quickly as there is no reason to have such speed potential..

I'm very sorry for the family and friends that lost him, however, I hope that we all learn from this and slow down and pay more attention so no one gets hurt.

When there is a death in a motor vehicle accident an investigation is performed. The detectives measure the skid marks, take statements and measure the impact damage and from all the facts plus more they can determine the speed of the vehicle. They do not ASSUME.
