By the time they finish this to Alexandria the original highway will need replacing. It's a shame the State Police harass everyone on this road constantly. Evidently there isn't enough crime in Alexandria and Leesville to keep the boys busy.

Well about damned time, only in 3rd world crapholes and Louisiana (wait they are one and the same) does it take 10 years to build a 40 mile stretch of highway. Let's not even include the stretch of 171 from Many to Florien at what almost 12 years of "construction" and counting. But hey what will the crooked cops do when construction is done and they can't give tickets for speeding through a construction site (even though the last construction done was over a year ago) anymore.

Heres a better idea get Leesville to actually grow and get some damned businesses in other than Wal Mart and Fast food and folks might not have to drive from Ft. Polk all the way to Alexandria to begin with...

It's taken longer than that. The original surveys were done back in the 40's.
