A book many should read. Yet their are those who lack the ability to comprehend let alone read. Dont let your rank go to your head. In the real world it means nothing. You might try reading, The Prince by Machiliavelli. Bad leaders drive soldiers to leave. "Military Times." And last "Cigars, Whiskey, and Winning." Hope that helps.

In order to get support you must earn support and give support. You must give praise at all cost even at the lowest ranks and whether you feel it is deserved. Respect is not given it is earned. You do not micromanage, you surround yourself with those who know "their" job and you allow them to "do their" job. Human affairs and politcal order do not exist cohesively without "checks and balances" without you get fraud, waste, abuse and lack of organization. You do not concern yourself with the fine threads in a small grey area, you expand into the ropes and focus on the overall.
"Always do everything You ask of those you command." On integrity.
