The school gets paid extra $ for handicapped children. Why yours is sent to a different school is complete [email protected] You definitely need to talk to the superintendent.

im not the only one who has had a child sent somewheres else.i know 2 other familys this happened to.yes where he goes offers pt and ot daily.i have no complaint with that school.my problem is this school district and how they pick and choose who they help and who they dont.ft plain has a pt room but again not sure how they determine who gets help and who doesnt.i know theres other kids there in wheelchairs and at least one who uses sign languge.so i dont know how my child would be any different.

You need to advocate for your child. Be aggressive and don't take no for an answer. Your child resides in their school district, they have no choice but to listen to you.

They are not doing any favors to anyone! How can anyone raise all those kids properly?? They are just check cashers that are adding more of a burden on the school system & us property tax payers

They are annoying and get what ever they want. They get free stuff and brag about it in school. They get paid by the government. So I think they should stop, they are only doing it for the money.

these fund come from state and fed money, and are not part of local school tax. so they are a benefit to ft plain csd.

I agree, these funds do come from the state and Federal government. Also, it creates jobs for more aides at the school to assist these children.

yes but not just from local tax payer so wake up and get your head out of your ass. if you had a child with needs you would cry the loudest for the aid the child needed.

Joe ever think we do have to pay retirement and benefits for all these jobs.... that are "created". Also none of these teachers live here, even in the county, your sending your money to Albany, Saratoga, Johnstown, ect. Then these people all stay here with there special needs, and have kids with special needs people...= more and more of it... not good...

Nobody is disputing that they are giving these kids a chance that they may not have otherwise been given. There are some things that make you wonder what motivates this endeavor. Is it money? Is it attention? Or are they genuinely concerned about these kids? I understand the place is run like an institution whereas a kid gets fed, but can't just go into the kitchen and grab a cookie or snack when they are hungry. The older ones are responsible for bathing the younger ones. If a kid who plays sports is catching a ride from another family, they are not allowed to eat out with that family. Something just seems abnormal about the whole deal.

you people arent looking at the hidden picture. i go to school with the Jacksons and they tell me stories of their families. U SHOULD BE ASHAMMED! for wanting to shake their parent's hand. they are absolutly horrible people. they bring in more childern for they state aid and when the kids turn 17, they are kicked out of the house. thats what happened to Bryan and Tom Jackson. Theres a lock on the fridgerator and the parents are the only ones who have a key. the kids dont own ANYTHING! they dont have there own clothes and every morning before school, they have to fight for clothes to wear that day. their parents forget about them after sports practices/games and many are left behind or someone else is forced to take them home because the parents dont come back. i am not making this crap up. everyone has heard of the Jacksons moving soon.. its because people are getting on to them. we are finding out what is going on behind closed doors and they are moving to a new town to get away from the talk. this isnt their first move. open ur eyes people! talk to these children, they will tell u, as they told me.

sadly I do agree with the fact that these kids are left after school for ridiculous lengths of time. Generally they have to wait until everyone is finished with all of the collective pratices...while I agree with saving gas and time it just seems a little extreme to have these kids waiting literally for hours. It just seems the teachers and coaches are providing child care well after school is over for this family. Spend time with these kids..they do seem starved for attention. As for what goes on at home I can't say but I do think the parents are overwhelmed and in over their heads.

whats going on behind closed doors is sad. they are starved for attention and having so many of them and only really one parent.. it cant be fited. i think there should be a limit to how many they take in. its starting to get ridiculous.
