I think Jealous is on to something here. When it comes right down to it, this really is a jealous little village. Teachers went to college and earned their keep. Good for them. My kids love their teachers.

I heard about the "Meet the Candidate Night" and the few things that were said. First Mr Yerdon said that the teachers make to much and only work 180 days a year? Well, if I remember Mr Yerdon works for the state DOT and we all know what we see from the state workers working on the highway, one works, 5 watch and 4 to Supervise.Did anyone ask him how much he makes? Also, Mr Yerdon said that in Neliston he purchased his own equipment because it was cheaper to do the work themselves instead of contracting it out, but he wants the school to contract out busing which is more expensive according to Rusty, which brings up another point. They ask Mr Trembley if he thought it was a conflict of interest him running for the board since his wife works there and he said NO. But did anyone ever ask Rusty why he is pushing this school bus issue, oh he use to own and worked for the bus company CONFLICT OF INTREST. Watch these three guys you will be superised what happens. They are self serving.

How does he write an estimate? He can't spell. Is his business that successful? Come on Don, stop sniffing so many fumes. You're the mayor of Nelliston, that's like being King of Legoland.

Don does not work for the state. He owns his own body shop. Rusty never owned a bus company either. Try getting your facts straight.
I am not expecting a whole lot of change at first with the board. Dave Fredericks created quite a mess with that plush contract he gave Burton. And it is on the internet signed by Burton and Fredericks for all to see. Dave will not be running again because his days of running the show for Burton are over. It will take a few years but the board will be better for it.

The time has come to over throw the old communist board of education as it stood.

It takes balls to start a revolution and love it or shove it Rusty is the guy for the job.

Its time to bring back the old school methods. Make the teacher take the responsibility of their job and teach. There is no need for all the teachers aides so the kids get more one on one attention to be able to learn. ADHD is a crock of shit dreamed up by all the old wannabe hippies that went to school for Child Psychology and to be Dope Pushers. They think they can figure out whats wrong inside a child's head. The problem isn't in the childs head. Its in society and the school systems. The kids don't need Riddilin or Adderall. What they need is a teacher that will lay a meter stick across their ass to get their attention. Then while they have their undivided attention they need to do do the job they are hired for. That is to teach them manners, respect and responsibility. 95 percent of the kids in todays world still don't know how to tie up their shoes and have no idea if they are coming or going. They don't even know which end of their damned ball cap is the front and back. Its not rocket science that the bill on the hat is to shade their eyes from the sun. If a kid wore his hat backwords in Coach Whalehead Jones class he wouldn't have to worry about the sun. Whalehead would kick him so hard that his ass would go right up in his hat.

Shiznit... I agree... but aren't you paying attention to the current mandates by the federal government and our state? Yes, to some degree new school board members will save some money. But most of your complaints will retire to the corners of your mind as senators and congressment push bills, out of our reach, that make the taxpayer cough up more money?

New members - yeah.... In 3 months or 3 years, nothing will change......

You bring up some good points. But the problem isn't with the school systems. All of the things you are talking about are problems with society. Schools don't diagnose kids- doctor's do. Schools don't prescribe meds - doctors do. Schools didn't do away with Corporal Punishment - the feel good "self-esteemers" pushed for that. Try teaching respect and responsibility to kids who come from families who are used to getting everything handed to them, who have a sense of entitlement without any contribution or hard work, and who are told "if a teacher yells at you, I'm going after them." This is a different world. And with the aides & things... if a doctor diagnoses a kid with a "disability" the school's responsibility increases because of Special Ed. law and mandates.

With Mr. Phillips retiring wont that free up two salaries considering the fact he was paid nearly $90,000. Lets see if they use it the way the supposed to and give the english teacher her job back. i'm sure Fredricks will find some who needs and aide for there aide.
