I just moved out of the peach house to the right in the photo this past saturday. I had met this family when they moved in only about a month ago. They seemed like a nice couple. My prayers go out to their friends and family.

To the friends of Elizabeth: Sometimes we don't understand events of this kind and look very hard for a reason."How could this have happened?" and "What could I have done to stop it?" These are questions that have no simple answer. I know how you blame yourselves for not doing enough. There was nothing more any of you could have done.Elizabeth knew you loved her and no matter what happened that never changed.
To Elizabeth's Parents: There are no words that can begin to ease the pain you feel. No friends, no family, no one can understand what you're going through. Just know you are loved and the community feels the loss of a wonderful girl.

what is going on with people in fort payne just a few months ago a man shot his self in front of his ex wife just one street up on alabama ave. this use to be a quite little town. i have lived here my whole life. it is sad that she will never see her kids grow up now that he took her life away from her. people need to stop and think if you cant get along get apart dont hurt the other one. think about the kids if there any. it is sad that it came to what it did. people in fort payne look around and think about how it use to be.

This story deeply saddens me. I know that Elizabeth was loved greatly, and there are many people that are mourning her loss.
We could all say bad things about the man who did this, and it would be true, but I keep in mind that he also has a family, and they are mourning the loss of their son as well, and the fact that he could do such a horrible thing.
My prayers are with BOTH families during such a sad time.
Elizabeth was a beautiful young mother and she will be greatly missed

I knew Elizabeth, and I do agree with you. AS much as I have cried and even said a few cuss words over this. My heart lso goes to to this guys parents. Elizabeth was the mother of their grandchildren and long after he is in jail they have to face the town with what their son did. My heart goes out to everyone involed.

Please remember these two small children. They have lost both their mother and father. We all need to remember this family when we pray, but most of all we need to pray that God will wrap his arms around these precious angels and protect them from the horrible words of mankind, for they are truly the ones who will suffer the most.

i think this man should be punished severly. he has two children and family that will be hurt forever. the laws should be changed to do something before a death can happen.

These families are very dear friends of ours. Nathan's parents deserve the same love, understanding and prayers as Elizabeth's family. This was not their fault. Nathan was a grown man and he made his own choice. He has been charged with murder. Elizabeth is at home now and not having to suffer the things of this world anymore. Grant it she was taken from us way before we were ready to give her up but God has a plan. Nathan needs to be punished for what he has done. Sin is sin. There is no big sin or little sin in God's eyes. We all need to be praying for Nathan as well as the Kirby's and the Wilder's. Missing you Elizabeth and your sweet smile!

This is the most disturbing thing i have heard and i just cant seem to shake it. I cant understand what could possibly drive someone to do something so horrible to someone they once loved and to not stop and think about the children. I knew beth and she was a really sweet person. i cant imagine what her family or his is going through and my heart goes out to them, especially this close to christmas. i pray for the family and her dear friends to help them to get through this. I got disgusted when i drove by the house today and the first thing i saw was a FOR RENT sign in her yard! Already...The sign took away from the flowers on the tree..doesnt anyone have a heart anymore! Is everyone just money hungary these days? thats horrible. Give the family some time to heal before you start throwing her things out..Have a heart.

Although I wasn't close friends with Elizabeth, I knew her and I graduated high school with her brother Nate. Larry, Joyce, Nate and those precious angels: I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and know that everyone back home in Sequatchie County is deeply saddened and misses Elizabeth very much. Elizabeth's beautiful smile will forever hold a place in my heart and mind.

This is what our quiet community is coming to. I see an upward spiral of things like this with more than 10% unemployment, higher levels of stress, and demands from society increase. May we all try to enjoy this holiday season. We don't know if it might be our last.
