Should it be tolerated? Exchange students and local high school kids drinking, smoking (and not just tobacco) and dipping under the watchful eye of host parents and parents of local kids.

No, it shouldn't be tolerated by parents, police, and adults in general but the parents will most likely blame the exchange students for it when something goes wrong because most of them are very jaded when it comes to their "little darlings", it's pretty amazing what you see going on from the outside.

Back to it. It is tolerated! The school year ended last year with a series of slam bam drinking, pot smoking pool party's with some of the exchange students and local kids. There was one set of host parents -both nurses-(who by the way don't have any children of their own) who live very close to the high school. Since they had 2 boys from the exchange program staying with them their house was a popular hub. The other popular hub is the home of a single father of 2 teenage boys that also live very close to the high school. Alcohol, smoking and dipping tobacco - bought and furnished regularly at both locations for those that wanted it, the kids furnished their own pot and the ever popular pot substitute known as K2 that can be purchased at any convenience store close to the school. This went unchecked for 2 years! Please comment on this there is much much more!!!!!

well "citizen" you missed the point completely!! the issue isn't whether or not these teenagers are drinking, smoking or dipping. the issue is that this is going on and being fostered, and allowed by people in a position of trust. thse kids and kids from other countries are doing this under the watchful eye of host parents along with the people in charge of these programs, or people who are closely linked to those in charge of the program. its like they are beyond reproach. there isn't anyone checking the store! the parties go on regularly in fort payne. i'll follow with another post of things recently uncovered by a single mother of 2 teenage boys who are close friends with the exchange students, her ex-husband is dating the daughter of the woman in charge of the exchange student program in fort payne and their involvement in the ongoing partying and everybody up the ladder knows about it.
