I never made a sock in my life. I am proud of those who stuck it out to the bitter end, but it don't have to be the end of socks made in the USA. Fort Payne must have at least 25 buildings that could re-opened into sock mills. Is it not possible for all the people who owned sock mills to form an organization among themselves and open one mill, there are lots of people in our nation who are willing to help. Look what Glenn Beck and citizens from across our country did for Wilmington OH. What if small businesses started opening new stores under the Name, Socks R US. We sell socks made in The USA.There are millions of our countrymen looking for products Made In The USA. Why not get in touch with Cabela's, Sportsman's Warehouse, Bass Pro. We could market millions of socks to truck stops across this country. We don't have to lay down and quit because Gildan sold you out. The sock business was here before anyone. Millions of people would pay a dollar extra for socks made in the USA. There is no doubt in my mind that we have the people in Fort Payne and DeKalb County who can put this venture together without the help of politicians.

Do something to bring more jobs for Americans! Stop catering to illegal mexicans. Downtown looks trashy!! If all of you voted in some good people in maybe the area would grow. But as it stands now, the place is a ghost town and looks horrible. The town needs more revenue and stop letting the your local government pocket all the money. get someone in that will put the money into growing the town. It's very sad to see that a beautiful place let to go down the pot.
