I heard the same info about tranfered employees get first dibs on those Ft. Oglethorpe store full time jobs. That info supposedly came from Costco employees who have put in for transfers.

This new store may have more delay for it's opening if they have more construction site theft of materials.

The thieves in our Ft. O community can't even wait till they open before they steal from Costco.

It is true, transfers do get first dibs on jobs. There will only be a handful if any full time positions for new hire employees.

They will have 40-50 transfers, the rest will be new hires from the local area. Costco is big on hiring from the local market and being a good corporate citizen.

Has the selection process begun yet? Perhaps I will not hear from them at all. The building looks complete to me.

Does anyone know a number to call for follow-up on an application? Is it just the 1-800 number? Really needing a job so bad husband is fixing to lose his job. He applied for Costco too. If they don't do family may the best man win.:)

It is idiotic that a business would only hire local workers. Jobs should be filled based on qualifications, not county of residence. I will be sure not to spend one nickel at this Costco, because of this kind of crap, that continuously hinders qualified job applicants. In what way is hiring locally being a "good corporate citizen?"
