Abusive Restaurant Owners Treat Employees like Crap!

I relocated here from NJ last May. I got a job as a waitress 3 days after arriving here and felt so blessed. I worked at a restaurant called Truly Scrumptious on the South end of FMB. I was hired off season when jobs are scarce, and quickly learned that finding a job in the service industry at the end of season is a rarity. Within the first week of employment I was warned about the owner and told to suck it up no matter what, just yes her to death because her way is the only way and she mistreats her staff. At first this woman seemed syrupy sweet and I was walking out in May, June with at least 100 a shift. I worked breakfast and the food was good and the customers rolled in and I was earning a nice penny.i got to know the customers and even though the work was exhausting, 8 hours starting at 7 am I enjoyed it. Soon after I had settled in, M's real colors came out. She would correct me on the silliest things in the middle of a mad rush, like why I used cup A instead of cup b. Place blame on whoever crossed her path at that moment, and go from super sweet to the devil within minutes. She was a micro managing pain and would say what she thought with no filter, and it was known that if you said anything other than yes, M you would be fired on the spot. She was like this with everyone so I sucked it up. Even when she screamed in my face for no real reason with her eyes bulging for minutes I stayed and shut my mouth. Myself and another lady who often worked with me who was over 60 and the best waitress I've seen got her wrath. If you didn't kiss her ass and suck up, you often found yourself in front of the firing squad. I never missed a day, never called out, not once, respected and took care of the customers. Every review in Trip Advisor mentioned the outstanding service. Never a complaint. I cleaned and cleaned and gave 150% because that's just me. All the employees got along but were always trying to throw someone else under the bus. She found ways to pit one employee after another ti cause drama. We were never enough. Never fast enough, never good enough, micromanaged every minute. It was ok, I really loved my customers and the money was good and she was open all year. The last straw came when the cook, whom was an arrogant idiot began sexually harassing me. At first it was jn a joking way so I laughed it off. It than escalated to abusive and finally physical. I was told by my coworker to suck it up, so I did for another 2 months until I couldn't take it another day. I went to the boss and her husband and explained the situation. They took him into the back and reprimanded him and put him back to work. I asked my boss to have him apologize to me and no dice. M was making the schedule and cut my hours from 35 to 6! I had enough! I finally went home in tears and told m6 husband everything. He knew nothing about it and couldn't believe I took it for so long. I am a very strong, outspoken woman but I really needed that job. I went home and cried for a week. I heard from another person who worked there that she was telling people I had stolen and was on drugs. I barely drink alcohol. I'm no saint, but NEVER used at work. Never in my life have I been abused like this. What a horrible experience. There are some CRAZY people who get their jollies making others feel small and anxious. 5his was my first awful boss here in FMB. what a maniac!
