Would anyone be interested in a Polar Bear swim SW Florida style?

I moved here from Jacksonville and they had a Polar Bear Swim every New Years Day at 8:00 am in the Atlantic. I have always been in an area where they have done this. I can't seem to find one here so I thought I might form one on my own. I know it is warmer here, but why can't we do this SW Florida style! We can do this in the Gulf off Venice Beach.
If anyone is interested reply to this post!!

I think they have something like this in Punta Gorda.
They swim from Laishley park to Gilcrest Park. I'm almost sure it's a New Years thing, but I'm not positive.
Try Googling it for more info.
