I am a former Coral Ridge Presbyterian as well. D. James Kennedy has been out of his duties for three months now. This may be God working to motivate him to lead the church back to a truly Evangelical gospel, rather than a political, nationalistic message. Either that or Kennedy's successor will make that transition. But if I were that successor, I would feel a little miffed that my preaching gifts were not given the chance to be broadcast on the television (The Coral Ridge Hour only broadcasts older videos of Kennedy preaching). In any case, I doubt that 77-year-old Kennedy will return to his position as before, even if/when his health improves, so it would be wise to make the successor's transition with the audience at large, as well as the local congregation.

Your right, hate speech is wrong, but its especially wrong from one who claims to be a man of God like Kennedy...

Dr. Berry was a good minister and he will be missed. However, at First Presbyterian Church and all Christian Churches, the real leader is Jesus Christ. The "family" at First Presbyterian Church will get through this and move forward with its ministry.

And why might that be. Not that I agree that Kennedy is guilty of your so called hate speech, but why is Kennedy more accountable than everyone else?
You dont except his doctrine so why would you then put him above other men?
Answer, to further your agenda.
Its called freedom of speech and freedom of religion. A man can have his own beliefs without having hate. What you liberals fail to understand is its a double edge sword that will come back to get you.

Berry paid just over 8 grand for his 2006 property taxes. How much did you pay Sal?

I smell a scandal -- maybe an extramarital affair, gay liasons, drugs -- something is up to resign so abruptly.

It doesn't seem as though the sale of his Coral Ridge home in 2004 was an arms-length transaction, although Broward County has assessed it that way. If you look at both neighboring properties, he should've been assessed much higher. I am curious to see if he sells the house does he get to keep all that equity from the 3 years' ownership or does the congregation which sold him the property get a piece also.

Free sppech? I'll give you free speech...Kennedy does not teach Presbyterian values, he promotes hate. I was confirmed in the Presbyterian Church and was never taught to judge other's lifestyles or choices and, in fact, being gay is neither, its something someone is born as.

I am not gay, I have a family and I am faithful to my wife and my faith. I have no reason to condemn what they do in private, and neither does Kennedy because when he does he promotes hate. One of the most consistent tenets of Jesus' teachings was to "judge not..." The guys got his own logs to deal with rather than other's splinters. Now before you come back and say I'm a hater and I am no better by judging him, remember that Jesus' one exception to tolerance was the money changers in the temple.... THE BIBLE IS WHAT MAKES HIM MORE ACCOUNTABLE BECAUSE HE IS PART OF THE TEMPLE.

Wrong. You have no idea what you're talking about.
Jesus said go and do this sin no more time and again. Same as Kennedy. I doubt your married or a christian. You're just filled with hate for any christian who dares to believe what the bible teaches and not cower to the gay community. Another fine exaple of two faced liberals. One can say their beliefs as long as it goes along with the liberal mantra, but when a christian or conservative does its hate. What a joke.

If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all.

Gossip is the root to all evil!

Everyone should worry about themselves.
GET A LIFE and stop prying into the lives of others.

We go to church to worship Jesus Christ not a Pastor.

Proverbs 11:13 which says that faithful people will conceal gossip, while liars will spread it.

Matthew 12:36 Jesus says, "But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment."
