Gator Attack Stirs Fears Across Southwest Florida
Word traveled fast through Southwest Florida yesterday after a Moore Haven teen was attacked by an alligator and flown to the Lee Memorial Hospital Trauma Center in Fort Myers.

If an alligator ever attacked me, the first thing it would feel from me is a hard kick in it's side and a punch in the nose!

Its mating season, they are extremely territorial and much more active in these hot temperatures...any splashing in the water is going to stir their curiosity. While he credits reality TV shows for saving his life, I wonder if those same shows gave him a false sense of security to enter the water to begin with...that river is known for the abundance and size of the alligators that reside there...
