I am a tax collector employee of 10 plus years. If they think they have problems now with the existing license plate, they will have more problems with this new tag. A flat tag,(even if painted with special reflective paint and security features) makes it even more possible for criminals to counterfeit. A raised, stamped tag design is harder to tamper with. Decals will be easier to steal and tear off on a flat surface. How much money will be lost then? Law enforcement chasing after criminals counterfeiting tags, that will cost the State and counties a bundle in itself, let alone the millions lost by the counterfeits! Let's trade one problem for a worse one! Sounds like what a bunch of over-educated, over-paid,self-impressed monkeys would come up with for a plan.

The State of Florida raised license plate fees by double back in September of 2009. What used to cost $162.10 before September of 2009 for the purchase of a license plate, decal and registration now costs $325.15, more than double. Citizens can hardly afford gas, let alone the cost of title and registration for a vehicle to drive. Where's that money going? Obviously, not where it was supposed to!

They say this is in the name of raising money for education? That's what the Florida Lottery was supposed to do. Where's that money? Where did it go? I'm buying all my kid's school supplies, funding school programs out of my own pocket and other children's too; we all are! Parents are inundated with fundraisers for school programs each year. Oh yeah, we are talking about politicians aren't we? Check their pockets, we might actually find those funds for education.
