So because some 'redneck parents' raise their children to think playing with guns is okay this means the rest of us responsible gun owners & parents should be penalized for their ignorance & stupidity? No. "
There is no reason for regular people to have guns. Not even for home defense. An intruder wouldn't make it 2 feet inside of my house, and I have no guns.
I don't think target shooting is the end of the world, but ends up with people having guns available.
Hunting has been obsolete for years. The supermarkets are filled with food, and even deliver it. We have expanded enough onto the territory of animals, no reason to kill them too.
Hunting regulates the population of animals; without it we'd be over run by excessive populations of deer, hogs, etc. Not to mention, the amount of food you can get while hunting would cost a fortune in a grocery store. Hunting is by far anything but obsolete.
Every person should have the right to bear arms for home defense. If someone came into my home, I am physically incapable of doing anything to stop them, but my gun can.
Having guns available is not a bad thing. Having no gun knowledge or education however is a detrimental thing. There is a difference.
Guns don't kill people, just like Spoons don't make people fat.
