sorry they could have answered and said they could not attend..
as far as policy for respect to religions.. they do have policies... because i worked every year for one full week as a sub for a teacher who was from India. the Jewish teachers had plans in place for subs to come in for them the schools have times when the kids speak and make projects according to their culture and religion.
maybe it is time they open their own private schools ..so they do not have to deal with worldly people...
as for Belk and the Santa hat that was wrong. but again i have seem women working in stores with headdress on as they are muslim and no one complained.
i do not bevel this principle turned on them because they were jws..

I don't think the principal had the right to demand their or anyone's presence at a Christmas celebration. From only what is written in the article, I believe they had a valid case, as it appears the principle then held it against them.

Another case resulted in a $1.3 million court judgment against AT&T after an employee was fired and another suspended after they skipped work to attend a convention for Jehovah's Witnesses. They weren't granted the time-off.

The Rosaleses are seeking back-pay, interest and possible reinstatement as well as compensation for other losses. They also want the school district to adopt a policy designed to address requests from employees who require religious accommodations.

Lets talk about the money that these JWs are getting. Does this make them money hungry as they say Conti is? What exactly is the difference in her getting money and one of JWs getting money?

The only difference is that they are the ones getting the money. It is interesting because they say they are not litigious.
They certainly ate t waiting on Jehovah.

I agree with you, but when are they going to start shouting that these women only want the money like they have over the Conti case? This man had no right to fire them because of their beliefs on attending things like this.

i think we need to learn more. if this principle did what was posted yes she should be fired. but you know what ticks me off about this..

my husband worked for years in a major corporation. he was denied time off for our children's birth. i know this is not the same as religion but the Christmas celebration.... if it was me... i would have said i cannot attend i have another thing to do that evening. it just sounds too blatant that this was done to a jw.. but then again who knows if it is really true and all the facts are true.. yep fire her.

but there are teachers of other faiths such as the one i subbed for who did attend. to them it was just a gathering of people to have fun for the night.

does this mean these two jw teachers
do not engage in other activities such as the harvest festivals they have?

do they not go on trips?

how do they teach children in school about things they do not believe in? science? social studies? birthdays with other faulty members? to me there has to be more. what about the faculty members that have gifts they exchange? didn't everyone know then they were jws if they did not exchange? do they accept gifts from students?

JW mostly are double toungues, hipocrities and Liars, main role plays money to have in the pocket, all law suits, are money motivated claims

I knew couple of elders who Saturday night drink heavly to 4 AM
and 10 AM in KH preached talk about bad habits of alcohol drinking,or drug use-but alone they were drank, hang over, and stinks from cigaretes,

same law suit, instead wait for NWO, JW stack dollars in the bank, and talking cheap bulshidt around

has anyone seen this?? i know it has nothing to do with this actual case.

as for this case i have a few questions

both husband and wife are teachers.
how do they teach elementary science and social studies?

and again ... i think it was mentioned in a case called minersville school district v. Gobitis? i have to check back but i thought someone wrote something that they were thinking or someone thought of opening a school.

with all the billions this org has..... why don't they open up a private school such as the catholic and other faiths have?

what i find interesting also is the catholic churches here have Muslim children and baptist children. religion is kept out and they do not want the children in public schools.

they all manage to get along but it seems to me (my feelings) when it comes to the jws. they always need to make it public and blow it up.. but yet they hide the fact they have pedophiles?

why don't they open up a private jwhovah witness school and then can teacher the children what they want to. i know when i worked i had to ask a student privately why that child did not stand for the flag. the answer was simple a jehovah witness is not permitted to.. in this case the parents said the child could not. so would the child want to stand??? i said it was alright but when you teach there is a line you have to walk especially in science.. so what are you supposed to do? jw children should not be help higher that Muslim children. Jewish Nichiren or any other faith.

i would like to read the court papers on this.. we do not have the religious celebrations as the ACLU is saying this school is having... but... in elementary school--- how do children not speak about their holidays whether it be Ramadan, Chanukah or even Christmas.. in art class do we punish children who like to draw a christmas tree or a star of David?

do these two teachers understand this? do they say things in class that may have come back to the principle?? i think we need to wait to the papers come out and we can read them..

i do feel for the teachers as they have both lost jobs.. and again i worry.. and wonder if there is more to this than has been written so far.

First, it must be determined beyond doubt that the principal did this thing because they were Jehovah’s Witnesses. If so, the principal was out of line.

However, what strikes me more about this is how Witnesses whine and run to the authorities when they they get "disfellowshipped" from school for non-compliance with a principal but have no problem expelling members who don't comply with everything from their head principals the Governing Body.

As long as Witnesses have policies in place that force people out only to be shunned by their family and friends, perhaps we should just look the other way when the same happens to them in other aspects of life.

People who are disfellowshipped from Jehovah's witnesses, refuse to repent of their unchristian conduct, they do not want to stop doing what the Bible condemns.

They do not have the courage necessary to be footstep followers of Jesus, so they blame their
spiritual death on someone else, rather than their own suicide.

No one is ever disfellowshipped who wants to stay with Jehovah God's visible earthly organization, who wants to be under the direction of the King and leader Jesus Christ.

(2 Peter 2:21, 22). . .For it would have been better for them not to have accurately known the path of righteousness than after knowing it accurately to turn away from the holy commandment delivered to them. 22 The saying of the true proverb has happened to them:“The dog has returned to its own vomit, and the sow that was bathed to rolling in the mire.”

Really now?

Then why was I disfellowshiped even though I made it clear that I wished to remain but left alone by the elders? I wasn't practicing immorality or gambling or being contentious in any way. I just disagreed with the Watchtower's view of 1914 and their "claim" of some appointment of their Governing Body as God's channel on earth in the year 1919. That's all.

So if what YOU say is true, why was I expelled? Shouldn't I have a right to disagree with another man's opinion without fear of retribution?

You do realize that you have completely misapplied that scripture, don't you?

That scripture is about those who have been anointed with God's holy spirit but who have rejected it and turned away going back to the world. This cannot apply to non-anointed persons as the majority of Jehovah Witnesses are.

that is why there are more than you think sitting at the meetings disagreeing with the GB on major doctrines, they know they can't speak out because they will be DF, not because of their love of God or not believing in Christ but because they do not agree scriptually with what the GB teaches, these b/s have families, friends and for many the only life they have ever known, to be DF would mean to lose all that is dear to them, where to go for them, being shunned like some sort of immoral deviat, when they have pedophiles sitting amongst them that go out witnessing approved by your GB hypocrites.

Hey unlisted I know back in the 70 and 80s there were some wittness schools in the Los Angeles burbs as my friend attended one. Her mom sent her there thinking it would be great but the kids were the worst of the worst. That's the problem with those types of schools regardless of the religon they are sometimes worse then public schools as many parents ship troubled youth off to them she picked up all kinds of really bad habits at that school.

Well obviously once again in Florida ignorance rules!
Is this more an anti-Semetic issue?
Our country is NOT CHRISTIAN, and no matter what the lunatic right says, our forefathers wanted separation of church and state for a reason!
That said, for every isolated incident like this, you have 100 where JWs try to stop all Halloween and Christmas, Valentine or any holiday parties in schools, supposedly because JW kids can't participate!!
As a JW kid, I never wanted these parties to stop, I was just pissed my parents pulled me out of school so I could not participate!
Jehovah's witnesses could care less about their children or their needs, it is all about self promotion of the WBTS, nothing else.
How about Jehovah's witnesses and the WBTS stop using children of members to get publicity???
This Fort Myers case just proves how bigotted many in Florida are.
I went to school in Miami, on the other side where I went to school with mostly Jewish children, as a kid, and on Jewish holidays are schools were bare, including just having substitute teachers, and the "holiday" celebrations were all inclusive regardless of religion. Wasn't a problem!!
How many teachers are Jehovah's witnesses?
I would not want my child being taught by one frankly.
They diss all research and science as "man's science".
Who wants a teacher in a public school, who puts the will of some old geezers running their cult above all else.
What, when it comes to discussing how old our earth is, and neanderthals, a JW teacher would file a lawsuit, and tell my children that the earth is only 5,000 years old?? That teaching any science or history is "against my religion" if it conflicts with the lies the governing demons decree??
The parents should be asking their children many, many questions and complaining to the school board if any JW "teacher" starts slipping in WBTS propaganda.
Since school is looked at as "secondary" for children, what kind of a teacher will a child have since that is what that JW teacher believes???
The teacher slips in every day, that schooling is not that important, but they should come by the Kingdumb Hall sometime to find the "truth"
Are you kidding me??
Being a Jehovah's witness should be an automatic red flag of why NOT to hire them as a teacher. With so many unemployed and so many looking for teaching positions, the last thing our children need are for them to be taught be a Jehovah's witnesses.

I sure believe that!
Because JW parents are blinded by the wBTS propaganda that JW kids are somehow so much "better" than "worldly" children.
They blind themselves to every sign of substance abuse, sexual promiscuity and severe depression, since that doesn't happen to JW kids who have parents "strong in the truth". As if by attending the kingdumb hall and sitting for hours every week, being dragged in field service, forbidding them from participation in any social or sports activity safeguarded their children. While it is painfully obvious to any loving, not brainwashed, parent, that the WBTS recipe is one that leads straight to the kinds of pain these kids are trying to soothe!
Jehovah's witness kids have the most problems, basically because their parents put the will of some old geezers who call themselves "jehovah' over loving their children.
Lise, I have said this before. You are the exception to the rule, and I admire your courage.
I truly know what a hard road you have traveled!
Bravo!

Jehovah's witnesses do not force anyone to stop the holidays, any one of them.

Jehovah's witnesses don't care if you do holidays or fornicate or hate and go to war and kill people, we don't care what you do.
1Corinthians 6:9,10

Jehovah's witnesses try to show meek people that this world is being misled by Satan and his lies, that's all. Psalm 37:11

People who want to have Almighty God Jehovah's approval must give up this world, ruled by Satan.
No one loving or telling lies or fantasies or fairy tales or Seasonal stories of saints or goblins will inherit God's new world of righteousness, peace and happiness.

John 8:44
"ALL THAT, FOR NOTHING"

Unfortunately, the above 4 words are what come first to mind when one of Jehovah's Witnesses dies physically to stand judgment before Jesus Christ for what he did while in the body.

Only then does he or finally realize that everything that they were instructed to do and obey from the Watchtower Society was all for nothing.

The Watchtower said it, they believed it and that made it so. They never even bothered to take the time to really examine and scrutinize what the Watchtower was telling them. They just accepted it as the truth and that was good enough for them.

But not for God. God never said anything about there being a true "religion" or organization that one must join and associate with. God never said to shun and deride all those who choose to take issue with something the Watchtower says that they knew to be in error.

Jehovah's Witnesses don't even accept Jesus as their mediator to God. And every year they publicly reject the bread and wine which symbolize his flesh and blood that he willingly gave in behalf of us all -- and in behalf of the whole world.
