Robert Laquintano, of Cape Coral, a retired RN, has been accused of financial exploitation of the elderly in a report to LEAPP who referred it to the Lee County Sheriff's Office.
Laquintano, allegedly spent all of his elderly mother's money prior to the time of her death in 2010. It's alleged that he swindled his only sister out of any part of an inheritance from their mother.
January 2012, Laquintano served his sister with eviction to get her out of the deceased mother's condo in Port Charlotte at the Cambridge House on Brinson Avenue. It was at this time she became aware that he was alleging sole ownership. In papers subsequently filed with the court he showed he had obtained an Summary Administration Order that gave him the sole ownership of the condo in Feb 2011. His sister was never notified of any probate proceedings and it is yet to be determined what happened to the mother's personal property.
The sister is an elderly disabled woman and has been on waiting list for Charlotte Presbyterian Homes for a year and others and will be homeless should she be evicted.
Charlotte County Human Services are unable to provide emergency housing for the woman.
The hearing on the eviction is set for Feb 29, 2012 in the Charlotte County Courthouse
