Its always been ridiculous. Too many people breed these animals for negative purposes and therefore they have a negative reputation. Its easy to spot the people that breed these dogs this way because they are the lesser educated. That's certainly no secret. I simply stated the type of people that I’ve seen with these dogs and that’s my observation. If you happen to fall into that category that certainly isn’t my fault. If you’re not, then no worries right?

A better way of wording your opinion...yes. I unfortnantly have to agree with you.-_- BUT!! All pitbulls are not bred this way. All pitbulls are not aggressive and the breed should not be banned bcuz some ignorant people have them. IVe worked with PLENTY of dogs and actually have found the smaller ones bite more...anywho...ehh to each his own (as far as opinions go) dogs are dogs. All bred from wolves. All essentially having the possibilty for the same disposition..get over it people...

Yet little dogs do seem to bite more, But I rarely read where a Shih Tzu kills a family member or another animal.

you know what dogs are mean and ruthless?! YORKIES!!!!!! i have a pit and a yorkie. when my pit is minding his own business trying to catch up on some sleep, the devil..., i mean the yorkie bites him and locks on like a crocodile and never lets go. true story my people. my pitbull just sits there and takes it. in conclusion we all now know which breed is the most dangerous of them all.

Why can't we just euthanize the scummy effs that have given these dogs such a bad rep?
That would settle everything.

Why not sue in small-claim's court for expenses plus pain and suffering up to $7,500? It should get the attention of the owner and help pay your vet and doctor bills (and your amo :))

<quoted text>
My 5 month old Chessapeake retriever was attacked by an unleashed pit bull this weekend that "never attacked a dog before". My dog was leashed and all he did was say hi by sniffing the pit bull who put a 4 inch gash in my puppies leg and a through and through hole in my thumb trying to save my dogs life. Set my dogs hunting training back several months and could have ruined him socially for life because of some unresponsible - uhm let me use your word "pussy" owner.
I have since bought a 500,000 volt stun batton that I carry with me every time I walk my dog and the first person I am going to use it on if another F*#&ing Pit-bull/Rottweiler or any other genetically bred aggresive dog even bristles at my Tanner is to shock the hell out of the owner first then take care of the dog with my licensed concealed-carry 40 caliber which is always on me once the dog attacks - lawyers be damned. I'll fight that one in court any day. My dog on a leash being attacked by an unleashed pit-bull - last time that will ever happen!
Currently sitting beside a dog with a drain in his leg and 8 stitches that screams of pain every time he steps on it and I am nursing a numb thumb with 3 stitches in it myself. I am not going to sue but do have documentation so if it happens again it will be perfect evidence to use in court when I beat the shit out of an unresponsible pit-bull dog owner that tries to attack my dog again. Lets just hope that we never meet and your kind sweet pit bull decides to show aggression towards my dog ...

Racoons and Pit Bulls share the same genetics. Around age 3.5 years the turn viscous. Until then they are cute and a great pet.

Why own something that will risk all of your assets (law suit!) after a few year? Try another breed or get a cat.

While I agree with all you guys, my thinking if you look back at my posts, they are respectful, and I do avoid the obvious steriotypes, which have much more than a grain of truth to them. Reading your posts and thinking about it, this is really more a forum for venting, no one here is going to change their minds. Certainly not those of us who have seen 3 pit bull attacks out of maybe 5 of what I would call attacks in my 40 years, people like me are not going to be convinced, what are they going to say "you imagined the attack", or is explaining why it happened going to make the damage done by the attack hurt less, or 'unkill' another animal. No one will change my mind.
toothless rednecks are never going to understand because thier dog has never done it, and they has know a bunch of pits, all great dogs, and it's all how you socialize the breed ect. That they are great dogs. They will most likely have the dog for 10 years and never have a problem, maybe 90% of them that will be the case. They think that this dog and 15 others that are puppies to age 12 are all great proves that we are stupid and prejudice against ignorant people, when in fact we love and respect the ignorant and mentally challanged (we can't all have IQs above 70). One of those 15 dogs that is 3 years old now will attack by age 8. Unfortunite for the 10% of kids who get the one that attacks, rather than the .5% of golden retrivers who do. Just felt like a little rant, and be real about my feelings of these brilliant pet owners 90% of which have great dogs that will live thier whole lives without killing anyone.

It is the pit bulls that are the problem and it is the owners that are the problem. Illogical to choose a breed that has the potential to be dangerous when there are so many better options. Even a tiger can be raised as a gentle pet ... until it's not.

When it comes to ANY breed of dog ,the biggest thing to do with them from a pup when you first get it home is socialize the pup with people and other animals. Training starts from the time you bring that cute puppy home. Don't let a puppy fool you, they to have to learn the basic commands (rules )as well.Somebody once told me: If you were to lock your spouse in the trunk of a car for hrs ,what would they do or say when you let them out?? Now put your best friend(dog) for hrs in the trunk and see what he would do when you let them out!!I'm pretty sure you will be kicked to the curb by your spouse ,and your best friend (dog)will be sooo happy to see you giving you nothing but his full attention ,and love.

Not all dogs love or try to fight. My boxer is 5 years old and has never tried to fight another animal. And no, it is not just the owners that cause pits to go bad. It is the breed itself. Pits are strong willed, territorial animals and it takes a strong person to be the alpha. People think you can baby a pit. You can't. Owners have to be the dominate, and most are not.

I have friends who have pits, and I like their dogs. They are friendly. But I still would not trust their dogs with my life or my dog's life. Pits do not belong at a dog park. They are too territorial.

Where in the world do you get your research from? Racoons? 3.5 years old? Really?
I'm going to take a wild guess & say that you, too, hate black people, gays, those who have a college degree (Lord knows you don't have one), Women, Tattoos, and to top it all off - I'm sure you support Obama.

How about today is the day that you open up that little closed mind of yours & actually experience the world instead of watching tv about it.

Yknow who's too territorial? Chihuahuas. Seriously!

& okay, you have a Boxer. So itd be like me saying "Omg I'd never get a Boxer! They are too hyper. Too unpredictable. They constantly jump up on you, hence the name 'boxer'. Thats just not safe."

Yes. Those are all typical ASSUMPTIONS of boxers because of maybe the 2 boxers that person has seen in their life. These ASSUMPTIONS of pitbulls are no different. Theres absolutely NO reason every single pitbull should be barred from dog parks.(Dogs should be banned PER DOG REGARDLESS OF BREED if they attack another dog. Period.) But, If they are, I say boxers should be as well. I don't want those ignorant things jumping on me.(Starting to see how stupid your pitbull argument sounds now?)
