David Nierenberg (CEO) of Unified Marine treats all of his employees like garbage. He is a tight wad Jew, and all he cares about is himself. He's been thru 3 marriages...no wonder why.

Oh and in the past year at Unified Marine in Newport, TN he has fired about 30 employees. Then he wonders why his warehouse can't get shipments out in time. Because he has a million dollars in his bank, but doesn't want to pay his employees! He tells his hourly employees NO OVERTIME, then wants his SALARY employees to pickup the slack by working on the weekends!! He wants them to "volunteer" their time at a business! Unified Marine is not a charity! It is a place of BUSINESS! NOBODY wants to volunteer their time for someone like David Nirenberg. He will get what is coming to him though. No doubt about that.

Is it true that unified marine is being investigated for federal consumer fraud? Something about shipping old fuel tanks to Walmart stating they are new EPA compliant? Can anyone confirm this is TRUE?

Federal lawsuit recently filed:

Michael and Karen Mileski (represented by Fredrich Farrer)
VS.
Unified Marine

To be heard in the western district court of Michigan

Filed August 11, 2011 regarding product liability (Imagine that)

Anyone with information may contact the Mileski's attorney, Mr. Fredrich J. Farrer. Just google Mr. Farrer's complete name for contact information. Thanks and have a great day!

Stay away from this place. david is an arrogant, old man that insists on using a 1970s business model to try and survive. Instead of trying to get to the root cause of a problem, he berates employees and them encourages them to quit or get fired and hires someone new. When he realizes THAT solution didn't work, he goes crawling back to them to try and get them back.
His offices in Bonita are dirty, cluttered and his own personal office looks like a bat cave. Too dumb and too proud to listen to the truth, he just throws more money at the very people who got him in trouble in the first place...including his warehouse in TN.

LOL! Where ever the main offices end up doesn't really matter. For the most part, the products are a good value for the price you pay. That is what really matters to an end-consumer. For me, no mas. I truly wish them well...:)

I can answer your question the fraud you refer to in your question posted
Is not true ,
It seems that a ext staff member sent a letter to Wal-Mart including several
Accusations made not only on the tanks but also float switches and one bilge pump style .
The results after unified hiring a independent firm proved to be totally false and unified was cleared of all charges .
The staff member who had sent the letter to Wal-Mart anonymously was no longer working at Unified when they were told in the end .
Final result , Unified was replaced by Wal-Mart before the investigation was finished causing the loss of many jobs including my own

David N & Bonita Fiasco<<<<The EPA/Fuel Tank/Wal-Mart matter is very convoluted and is too involved to simplify in a blog like this. Bottom line is the Fuel Tanks are still on the market, the company is struggling to survive despite being without a steady hand at the helm, and there are good respectable people still working there whose livelihood and families depend on that job. Despite your personal vendetta, please do not cause a big issue that jeopardizes the financial well being of the remaining employees. That would be wrong and the blood on your hands...

This David N is full of it. I am an ex-employee and what BonitaFiasco & LOL have posted is true. The whole thing started by a disgruntled ex-employee who wrote Wal-mart a letter full of B.S. The Wal-mart buyer wanted to change vendors anyway, so this was his excuse to get his ignorant supervisor'' okay'. Bottom line is the fuel tanks are as good (or not) as any other aftermarket (eg. Attwood) tank. If there really was a problem the EPA would have pulled them off the market two years ago. Look when the suit was filed. In America you can find a lawyer to file suit on anything for no reason. Just like this website..any idiot (David N) can say most anything. Don't believe what you read on the 'net, especially this site.

I didn't think working in Bonita was that bad.
Besides the fact we had a degenerate employee steal a computer "obvious" and the purchasing managers that were deemed useless. If we dont have product, it cannot be sold. I can understand why something happened, but he did pay your bills and your insurance. You could of quit, but the UMI employees didn't.
There are many shit talkers in this company, but i took alot with me. I met some good people and gained more experience. Some of us just didn't put up with the nonsense. Some agree while some disagree.
Why dont you post your names so we can communicate like adults. There were only 9 of us in the office at any one time.
Should i start naming names? Whats so eye opening?

Regarding the fuel tank issue.....here's what really happened: During the fall of 2010, UM was working with their suppliers to design a tank that would meet the new EPA requirements that would immediately go into effect on January 1st 2011. The supplier was struggling to meet the deadline (both in certification and quantity needed to ship). Walmart demanded that the new tanks ship on time....cont.

Cont....just a couple of weeks before the deadline, the supplier began shipping the new tanks. However, a serious quality problem was found by the warehouse staff upon inspection of the new tanks. These tanks were then placed on hold and, atleast to my knowledge were NOT shipped to walmart.
