1 For those of you happy to see MD close... I reminded of this quote -- "If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine." |

1 People like you who call themselves "parents" should be sterilized. Your comments are shameful and only shows your ignorance. |

1 Now the MD parents are calling for the sterilization of others? When will the madness end? |

1 Since this all about the kids,why you would think it is funny for a school to close where the kids love going every day is beyond me. It just shows an ignorant mentality. I think your anomosity stems from some type of jealousy or perhaps a hatred of "DOC". There seems to be a lot of that on this stie. The hatred of a building or a person doesn't justify closing a place of learning. Especially the most "SUCCESSFUL" place of learning in the City. Perhaps if ADO and 4th Street hated their principals and their buildings your kids would be getting the same education (As evidenced by the test scores) as the kids at MD. Look at the real source of the reason for having to close any school in Npt. Go to www.education.ky.gov and search superintendent's salaries. Look at what Npt.'s super makes compared to other surround successful districts. That's your wake up call. Let him keep bankrupting your system and your child will not go to ADO he will be bussed out in the county to a Campbell County School. If you want to hold anomosity towards "Something" put it in its rightful place. Sopt posting here and VOTE for the right Board Members when it comes time to vote. |

1 Hey, "What" - the committee has spoken. They were a collection of YOUR community members. Real, hard facts were analyzed. Not feelings about "Doc." Did you attend any meetings to make your opinion heard? Bet not. So, now stop whining and trying to preach to us. |

2 And how are the ignorant masses of Newport going to vote for the "right" board members? Like they did for the Parsons who left the MD families high and dry during the MD closure debate by resigning and leaving town? |
||||
|
I hardly think the vote message is going to reach "the ignorant masses" in Newport since the majority that are posting and reading this forum seem to be NIS employees. Also, much was learned from the Parson debacle. Only serious board members need apply.

1 Obviously you were not there. It was based on one week notice of what was put forth by the superintendent. His proposal, analyzed for one week, then approved. |

3 If you had gone to the meetings you would know that this is not true. It was not a collection of OUR community members. It was mainly NIS principals and teachers, a couple hand picked architects, and a couple parents. All but 4 people on that committee had it out for MD. There was no way common sense could possibly prevail when the superintendent TELLS them their options and TELLS them how to vote by saying "I'm not a voting member of this board but this is what you need to do." All the "numbers" and "facts" actually point out that MD was the 1 school that should have remained open. Anything listed as a "con" for 4th St was listed in such a way to make it appear as to NOT be a con...or easily overcome...which it could not. Anything listed as a "con" for MD was written as if MD was possessed my demons and must be closed. It is obvious the mentality of the person who put this information together for the committee. The way things were presented was such that anyone who was possibly on the fence would have no choice but to want to close MD. The entire process was skewed from the beginning. MD never stood a chance. |
