We just bought a home closer to the 200 end on Owens Road or CR 18 and have just been told there is a new subdivision going in. Is anyone able to tell me how from our home this subdivision is?? Please tell me it isnt right on top of my house. We had truly hoped to have a quiet area. Isnt Ft. Mitchell considered rural AL.?

Thank you.

My family is moving to Alabama and being stationed at Ft Benning. I have struggled searching for a safe, somewhat drug free area in Alabama to raise my children. I was looking at Smiths Station but have heard the Meth problems there are out of control. I need a good safe district for the children and really want to be in Alabama . I am interested to hear what post you get back on the area that you are in. Good luck to you.. it seems this is a struggle for us all.

Meth and Crack are out of control in every town, city, and state. So good luck if you find anywhere that doesn't have some type of problem. I would agree that Smiths would be my 1st pick or the new homes in Ft Mitchell. There are lots of Military family's moving to that area.
