Danny Funderburk, mayor of Fort Mill, South Carolina, said the only reason he forwarded on a chain letter asking if Barack Obama was the Antichrist was because he was "just curious."

He told the Charlotte Observer:

"I was just curious if there was any validity to it. I was trying to get documentation if there was any scripture to back it up."

I am just curious how he became mayor. Sort of in the same vein that I am curious how Palin became mayor, then governor, and then VP candidates. Where do we find these people?

Go check out the Michael Frisbee thread, Father: Obama Was Asked Not to Mention Bracelet

He and his nasty little fascists are equating Obama's plan to make our nation more secure by recruiting and training more teachers, nurses, environmental works with Hitler's youth. He is a vile fascist using inflammatory rhetoric cheered on by racists and total lunatics who are threatening violence the day after the election.

Join me in protesting to Topix about them letting this dangerous propagandist use their medium to stir up violence and hatred.

Soldier's mother 'ecstatic' about Obama's bracelet
By DINESH RAMDE – 20 hours ago

MILWAUKEE (AP)— The mother of a Wisconsin soldier who died in Iraq says she was "ecstatic" when Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama mentioned during Friday's debate the bracelet she gave him in honor of her son.

Tracy Jopek of Merrill told The Associated Press on Sunday she was honored that Obama remembered Sgt. Ryan David Jopek, who was killed in 2006 by a roadside bomb.

Jopek criticized Internet reports suggesting Obama, D-Ill., exploited her son for political purposes.

"I don't understand how people can take that and turn it into some garbage on the Internet," she said.

Jopek acknowledged e-mailing the Obama campaign in February asking that the presidential candidate not mention her son in speeches or debates. But she said Obama's mention on Friday was appropriate because he was responding after Sen. John McCain, the Republican nominee, said a soldier's mother gave him a bracelet.

"I've got a bracelet, too, from Sergeant — from the mother of Sergeant Ryan David Jopek, given to me in Green Bay," Obama said during the debate. "She asked me,'Can you please make sure another mother is not going through what I'm going through?' No U.S. soldier ever dies in vain because they're carrying out the missions of their commander in chief. And we honor all the service that they've provided."

Jopek says Obama's comment rightfully suggested there's more than one viewpoint on the war.

She wouldn't directly say whether she wanted Obama to refrain from mentioning the bracelet again, but said she hopes the issue will just go away.

"I think these bracelets should be looked upon as an honor that both candidates wear them to respect the troops," Jopek said. "My request to both of them is that they honor the troops by lifting the conversation to the issues, and that they continue to live up to the standards our military deserves."

If his mother asked Obama not to use his name, Obama should have respected that wish.

If he had class, Obama would have just looked at it and said nothing about an bracelet. The press would have surely asked him about what he looked at and he could have confessed having a similar bracelet from a mother in WI but still kept the name secret.

"Enlisting Missouri law enforcement to intimidate people and kill free debate is reminiscent of the Sedition Acts - not a free society.”(From a statement issued by Governor Matt Blunt on Sept. 24)

St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce and St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch, both members of The Obama Truth Squad, have threatened to bring libel charges against those who speak out falsely against Barack Obama. Some say that such threats by Missouri authorities to pursue criminal charges violate civil rights. Many see this as an attempt by the Obama campaign at voter intimidation.

KMOV has a Sept. 23 video news report on this story. The report clearly shows involvement by the Obama campaign. This is an excerpt from the KVOV report:

“Sen Barack Obama’s Presidential campaign is asking Missouri law enforcement to target anyone who lies or runs a misleading television ad during the Presidential campaign ... Prosecutors and sheriffs from across Missouri are joining something called the Barack Obama Truth Squad ...”

It's sacrilegious for you and others to say that. It's very offensive to Christians. Only people who don't support Obama say that about him.

Obama supporters please explain how??

How could raising the income tax on my Doctor lower my health care costs?
How could raising the taxes on my landlord reduce my housing costs?
How could raising the taxes on builders, realtors. lawyers make it possible for me to buy a home?
How could raising the capital gains on my grand mothers house help get her into a nursing home?
How could raising the taxes on Walmart/Foodlion or the farmer lower my grocery bill?
How could raising the taxes on Ford/GM make my car payment less?
how could raising the taxes on my employer get me a raise?

Just who is Obama going to raise taxes on that won't cost me more money?

Don't worry about it. Bush and the Republicans have already screwed you royally. They've screwed the country, and the American taxpayer.

I don't think a lot of people realize what kind of financial crisis we're in.

Whatever Obama would spend is ant piss in the ocean.

Easy, because if he raises the taxes on you instead then you won't have money to pay your -
Landlord
Doctor
Car Payment

Explain to me how Republicans plan to pay for all of their spending yet reduce their income (i.e. taxes)? Oh, that's right - Credit from China.

"what if" you actually go read his plan, then read mccains, as i have. then you will realize that its mccain pledging tax breaks to corporations, which will only lead to more greed. he claims lowering taxes on big corporations will allow for more money for growth and jobs, but in reality it will allow for a greater profit margin and more money in the pockets of people who need it the least.
just remember too, that its not as cut and dry as all politicians make it sound and if you just pick and choose what you dont like you will forget about the stuff that should work.
in obamas plan he offers to cut tax on businesses to alleviate the burden of payroll tax since your share is picked up by your employer.
i dont recall ever paying a capital gains tax on the house i own so that you need to explain. that is irrelevant to your grandmother getting into a nursing home. what is relevant is obamas plan to eliminate income tax for senior citizens and not even make them file taxes after a certain age. seems good to me.
as for his raising taxes on walmart, thats not anywhere in his plan. he states he wants to stop giving corporations tax breaks for shipping american jobs overseas and rewarding corporations who hire americans.
in fact i dont see anywhere in his plan where he plans to raise taxes on anyone. you should stop getting your ideas from mccains website because like in the debate, he made things up as he went along about obama.

No problem. SC is a neat state with a fascinating history, beautiful scenery and great food! No one with intelligence is going to judge a town because of the comments of one idiot.
