It seems like nobody wants to make any money around here. Back home everything is open on Saturdays, most on Sundays as well. Why does every place around here close when we get out of work and close on our days off? I am so ready to be back home. The boredom and inconvenience is killing me.

What businesses are you referring to as being closed? I find that a lot is open on Saturday. If not here, Rolla is not that far away. Springfield, St. Louis and Columbia/Jeff City are well within travel distance.

Lots of places. All of the places I pay bills at are closed on the weekends. Then nobody wants to travel over 30 miles for anything every weekend. It seems like all there is to do here is go to wal-mart or eat. Theres no events that are worth going to, nothing to enjoy doing outside, no place to shoot guns except on post and nobody wants to go there because theres too many rules to enjoy it. We've hiked about every trail around here. Im just saying, someone needs to bring things to do to this area. Strip clubs and bars arent for families. I've been here four years now, I feel like a fish in a bowl. If someone wanted to make real money they would build more entertainment around here and stay open late. Maybe a bowling alley off post, an arcade, a scating rink, or even a mall. I know there are some of these farther away, but keep them open late on the weekends and you'd have more business than the places farther away.

The reason there is nothing there the local city government will not allow it. When I lived there I had land almost purchased. Was trying to open something like a chucky cheese/ incredible pizza kinda place. The local city shut me stated there was not the population for that around there. Really that's why everyone goes to the lake or springfield. I can promise you if I wanted to a strip club or well known restaurant they would have signed of in it.
